Review: HX Outdoors D-135 "Survival" Fixed Blade Knife

Hey BLF, I wanted to have a bit of fun with this one. It’s sort of a companion piece to my G700 review I did a while back. It actually could have been a decent, budget fixed blade- if it hadn’t been for all the tactical styling, high riding sheath, jimping, and ridiculous artwork on the blade. The steel is nice, and should hold up well to use- so that’s a good thing I guess… Anyway, if you are offended at occasional NSFW language or like serious knife reviews, maybe sit this one out? Needless to say, the review wasn’t sanctioned by anyone… although I didn’t have to pay for the blade.

So, a perfect 5/7 knife then? Imagine if they put TACTICAL on the other side of that wicked gas mask, that would be even awesomer! I think I want one now… :face_with_monocle:

I like your patented survival knife demo!

My son has not seen one of your reviews before and spent the whole time doing this. I wasn’t far behind him. Nice work as usual. We all need a knife that cuts the crusts of bread as we all know the crust is the best bit.

Damn Yankees always using those bad words! You should watch some more You Tube videos. Everyone knows that Zombies will not come after you, if all your survival gear has Skulls and Gas Masks on it!

Great video!

That’s really the only way you can improve it!

It’s the only way to really test your survival skills!

And also son… this is how not to treat a knife… Youtube is full of useful information! I’m a new father, and I’m sure I’ll be doing this soon… Personally the end piece of bread has always been my favorite part!

It’s that famed Missourian attitude! You’re right, this would make an excellent knife for those people preparing for the zombies. Buy 5!

Hmmmm, I’m feeling a little peckish after that. :-}

Must have been the chewing!

I like the “stonewashed” blade finish, the tactical, toy-ish handle not so much.

Me too… it’d actually be a nice look if it weren’t for the artwork on one side.

Your neighbors must wonder who the F$#@ is this guy living next door. Running around his house at night like a Ninja, mysterious lights flashing through the shed windows, lights his grill with a ferro rod, making a sandwich with a Rambo knife

Hahaha very nice video, well done

It’s called strategic blocking. Make sure a building is in the way of line of sight, and your neighbors won’t think you’re insane. Now only people on the internet will.

I like the way you field dressed that PBJ sandwich.

Can you make a sequel, starring both the D-135 and the G700? That has the makings of becoming a cult hit!

We seen it cut through fresh bread...how's it do on burnt toast ?

Still laffin'...Funny as CHIT video man... :-D

Sadly, the G700 went back to it’s original owner on Friday. Silm Pickens will now get to experience the joy of the G700 once again!

I should do a follow up! These are questions that have to be known. Thanks!
