What XP-L Hi for Manker E 11????

I tried de-doming a Manker E11 to give it a bit more throw and whilst the de-dome was fairly effective it’s gone a horrible green tint …… As I like the light so much and it’s levels / modes and run times I’d like to fit a neutral ish tint XP-L Hi that will hopefully leave the rest unchanged but just give it that bit more throw.

Can anyone tell me what I’d need to fit that drop straight in easily without any adjustment / trimming apart apart just soldering out the wires from the old and soldering in the new???

Ideally not from mountain electronics either as their postage cost to the UK is so prohibitive.

Xpl hi v2 3c tint. Very nice.

You will have to wait 2-3 weeks for delivery though.

Í would advise 3A or 3D tint, it’s less greenish to start with than 3B or 3C.
But if you’re gonna do a dedome, the tint will get a bit warmer (and even greener than ordinary Cree tint) so you could choose 1A or 1D.
Have a look on AliExpress for XP-L V5 or higher flux bin and 1A or 1D tint bin.
There are some W2 flux bin ones for sale too.

You could also go for an xpg2…

They aren’t as good at massive amps, but as the e11 only puts 800mah to the led, they will be fine.

Good tint too.

My favorite tint is 4000K 5A2 tint.

It’s a very nice neutral tint. Slightly rosy. No hint of green. I personally much prefer this to tint to 3C and 4C, and 3D and 4D.

Compared to Nichia 219C 4000K the 5A2 has little red and quite a lot of yellow though…
The lack of red is what gives Cree LEDs that green impression.

Does anyone happen to know if the board’s are 14 or 16mm???

I don’t have any Nichia 219C 4000K.

However, I have compared the CREE 5A2 tint to 4000K Nichia 219B high CRI, and to 5000K Nichia 219C.

I find the 5A2 tint to be superior to and rosier than those Nichia tints. Furthermore, being XPL HI, the CREE is also much brighter and throwier than either of the Nichias.

It’s 14mm I am afraid.

You will probably have to reflow a led onto the original mcpcb like I just did here:

I changed mine to xp-l hi v2 3b .

Love the tint :+1:

I’ll be getting some of these V2 5A2 when I get back from holiday travel.

I’m guessing this one with the 14mm copper board would be the correct one to order ???
