Stock Massdrop CuTool in middle, the other two have LED swaps
I don’t mind the green tint in actual use, unless I compare side by side while whitewall hunting..
My brain quickly adapts its white balance to the environment, our eyes are not as sensitive as my phone camera, to flicker, tint, color, brightness..
And, I can swap the other lights copper heads onto the Eswitch Tool too.
Its fun to have a silent switch.. the regular tool clicks really loud, enough to wake a baby
although, Im still loyal to my Maratac.. actually.. Ive been carrying more than one FlashToy lately
Note the 219C is 24% brighter than the 219B in the worm
E-SWITCH mod done on a Tool vn. No more burning holes in my pants. This turned out nice for what tools I was working with. Angle grinder, files, 100, and 150 grit sand paper, polish.
fwiw, the ESwitch won’t give 3 modes with a fully charged LiIon, when using the stock Tool driver
Only high mode works until voltage drops below 3.8v (and yes, I realize the stock tool does not officially support LiIon, but I also know people who do it anyway)
maybe your toolVN does not have mode loss problem, since it may have a non stock driver that is LiIon only
Does your ESwitch work to give multiple modes w your Tool VN? Or do you run it single mode anyway?
I have full access to the UI of driver VN2. I run my ToolVN on 1% 30% 100% No memory. At 850 lumens turn on i cannot suffice with only 1 mode. I just had to reprogram the driver after installing the switch. I had a hard time reaching the programming mode and almost thought it wasn’t going to work. Then after 30min I finally got it to the mode group I wanted.
The TI tail spring seems to be of higher quality material and probably gives a slight bump in output when using direct drive current.
Lumintop was nice enough to let me buy the TI tail cap by its self.

awesome!
I was wondering if they would be kind enough to sell me a copper ETail
it does take the ETail about 30 minutes to charge up the capacitor in the switch that enables the modes above medium, glad its working for you..
you are the first person I know to have tested the ESwitch with LiIon for ongoing use.. great to hear your driver works multi mode with the Eswitch, the stock driver does not, so one more plus for the VN driver.. nice kit
@DIPSTIX Awesome flashlight, I would like to have a Tool VN too but its a little bit expensive
Here is my favorite Tool, a copper with a E-Switch and a Nichia LED and……..it is low-med-high
Love it and I really like the custom titan button!
I`ve just ordered me a copper with the e-switch from Massdrop, I am very curious how the 219c is doing
And hello Jon, long time no see! I had some health problems in the last months but now everything is fine again.

so glad youre back, I was concerned when you were absent
I look forward to your impressions of the 219c in the ETool.
the Preon clip is a very cool looking addition .BUT the ebay seller thinks 9$ to ship a clip makes sense .
I just paid 14$ for another reg. copper tool (using points at gearbust)…$14 for the clip is just wrong
I want one …just not that bad

Massdrop has the Eswitch copper tool for sale again. It is LMH and available in N219c https://www.massdrop.com/search/aaa/drops
they also have the Brass and Blue Ti Tools w Eswitch, plus the Cu Pineapple AAA
I did the switch replacmemt myself by emailing lumintop and asking to purchase a tool TI tail cap.
Successfully made the swap on my Toolvn Cu. The tailcap is handing the current perfectly. I have been using this light for over a year now.
I have three Massdrop e-switch versions and want to do the opposite. If Lumintop sells me the switch, is it easy to convert it to a clicky? I realize I'll probably have to mar the beautiful brass and titanium with a black rubber switch, if its possible at all. I don't want the parasitic drain.
That being said, if it can be done, I'll three e-switches to sell if anyone wants them, or donate if you're handy and can help me.
I own a Copper Lumintop Tool with clicky switch, and also a Copper Massdrop tool with ESwitch
they are a direct swap, unscrew one, screw on the other..
but since you have brass massdrop, and there is no Lumintop Brass Tool Clicky, and since you have Ti Tool, and there is no Ti Tool clicky… Your metals would not color match if you buy a Copper Lumintop Tool with clicky switch.
the cheapest way I can think of to get a clicky switch is to buy a black aluminum Lumintop tool.
Im not sure how to answer your question about putting a black button on an Eswitch, since it would still be an Eswitch if you only change the button.. What I think you need is the whole Clicky tailcap…
fwiw, your Brass Tool Head will also work on a Maratac, as a twisty only
the Ti Tool Head does not lego with anything, it is different than the other heads
hope that helps you evaluate your options.. I have no modding skills, I just buy and lego
suggestion, since your goal is to stop parasitic drain on the E switch, the easiest way to do that is to just unscrew the head of your brass and Ti Massdrops, slightly. I just tested my copper Massdrop w E switch and yes, unscrewing the head slightly while the switch is ON, does turn the light off. It also works as a twisty.
The Copper Tool with electronic switch has arrived at Massdrop
I really like the Copper Eswitch option
