I like the Lumintop Copper Tool but I wish it had a e-switch like the Ti and the Massdrop brass Tool.
So I have ordered me a Ti tailcap with switch from Lumintop as a spare part and did the following little mod
That was a coincidence, I`ve bought me a Tool Ti but the switch doesn`t work. I`ve wrote a E-Mail to Lumintop and they send me a new switch with the tailcap and I paid only for the shipping, In the meantime I disassembled the defective switch and after I assembled it again, the switch worked perfect. And now I have a spare switch for this mod.
That’s really neat! I’ve just been using the Ti tailcap on the Cu Tool, but your solution is much more elegant. Finally a use for my misshipped Cree Ti Tool, thanks!
That is a cool switch, but my understanding is that the UI is the same whether you use the e-switch or regular clicky switch, so are there any practical advantages to using the e-switch?
Today I grind the top of the tailcap a little bit more and smoothing the edges. Feels more comfortable now when you use the switch and works better with a thick thumb
This is what I used for the grind work with 80 and later 600 sandpaper.
I do wonder if the manufacturer themselves understand what a attractive option the copper version would be modified like this?
If it was sold like this I would have bought it already
Or a lamp with a conversion kit if there was one, not to fond of the original switch implementation on the non ti’s.
