Which charger Maha C9000 or Opus BT-3400

I have a Maha C9000 for years and I want more charger/analyzers to speed things up. I’ve been fine with my Maha C9000 but the opus has lots more options. Will the Opus have the same functions as the Maha and then some? Can I trust that the Opus will not burn my house down when I leave it to do its thing? Would hate if I have to baby sit it for 40 hours when I do break-in cycles.

Wasn’t the Maha C9000 with the old firmware a model that melted down? :person_facepalming:
I have not had any issues with my Opus. OTOH, lots of people hate the little fan. Lube it or change it. There’s a whole thread on it.

If you want to do lithium ion you need to upgrade anyway. If you are staying with NiMh, stay with the Maha.
You don’t need or want to do break-in cycles on lithium.

If you are only going to be working with Nimh/Nicd cells, then consider Opus C2400 or C2000 instead - no need to worry about a potential fan issue.

Why not also consider the SkyRC MC3000 (in case you also move to Li-Ion cells)? :money_mouth_face: (it’s more expensive though… but possibly more features than the Maha)

Never heard of a meltdown with the C9000. May you were thinking of the La-cross BC900 and BC1000 that had meltdowns.

Ha! I actually have some 18650s but didn’t really stuck with them. That’s actually why I was looking at the Opus since it can tell me the health of the few 18650s I have.

Yikes! $99 for the SkyRC. It is much better than the Opus? like the Mobile App for it though.

Around $80 at Gearbest with coupon code… Expensive but tons of features (may be too difficult to use for casual users).

See HKJ’s very comprehensive review (note that some of the bugs mentioned there are already fixed with the latest firmware revisions):
