That numbering seems like ChangJiang 18650 (a China brand). I also have one with similar numbering inside a cheap small powerbank.

That one is pretty close, thanks. Just wanted an idea what I had. Actually pulled it from a power bank. When I googled it with the number on it, I didn’t find it.

Would the 1814 portion of the number be the date code ? 18th week of 2014.

I haven’t tried deciphering the number before, but mine reads 18650 6BL90216 35812.

Going by your decoding method, that means 02 week of 2016. (I just got this powerbank latter part of last year 2017, so the battery’s date seems reasonable).

Good guess — I think you may be right.

I’ve seen that date formula before. At times a product can sit 3-4 years before getting sold, so a year is pretty much nothing, although batteries would be a bit more critical. Thanks for the assist…
