Palight XPLAT

Hi,

Does anyone know anything about this light? A few new ones have popped up on BG and they look interesting but there is not much information out there.

Looks good.

They are good looking lights, but they never seem to be in stock and are usually kind of expensive with average output. I think that they may be working with Shadow or the other way around on some of the lights. The drivers appear the same and some of the odd construction appears the same. I am a fan of the old Shadow lights.

Just a caution, the description states an XP-L HI emitter but the picture of the emitter inside the light shows an XP-L HD.

I am tempted to get one however without more information or any reviews it seems a bit of a gamble. I will wait until more information is available.

High, medium, low, strobe, Turbo UI

Nooooopppe.

I just got the PALIGHT HXM-XPLAT XP-L HI. For the price I paid for it… I have no complaints at all. :+1: .

Some comments of UI and performance please @teacher

Sure thing… :+1: The UI is nothing to write home about for sure.

High -> Medium -> Low -> Strobe -> Turbo -> SOS

It starts on High each time & goes to Medium & then to Low.

It puts out a fairly nice beam & throws decent also.

When I have time to measure the lumens I’ll post how it stacks up against what it is stated to be.

The fit n’ finish actually seems pretty good. It came clean & with no blemishes. And the LED is perfectly centered also.

I think for the price I paid thru M4DM4X it is a pretty decent buy.

I’m totally pleased at this point…… even though the UI is crappy.

Edit: …… I noticed a couple more things:

  • As mcfarlie6996 noted above, the emitter is an XP-Lnot an XP-L HI.
  • The lens appears to be coated.
  • If turned off for at least 4 seconds the light restarts in ‘High’. Less than 4 seconds it restarts in the next mode.
  • It will tail stand.

Thanks teacher ,UI seem :person_facepalming:

My pleasure. Yep, the UI is crappy…. but for the price I can live with it. I’ll just set it & leave it.

Palight is owned by Luckysun they are really good lights. We had a BLF Luckysun D80 edition back in 2016 i bought 3 and i love them. I also bought a few Luckysun lights from Aliexpress store they are well built and a good price.

They offer lights in a matte grey finish and it looks awesome

I cant actually find the Palight branding under Luckysun now they got rid of there Aliepress stores ages ago but i still see there drivers for sale.
This seller has heaps of Luckysun lights.

PALight has been around for quite some time now, i've owned a few and it seems the driver they use for all their lights are those that were used in lights that came out over 10 years ago. Has lots of visible PWM however the build quality of their lights are great. Mine's more than ten years now (an older model, not this one) and still works to this day. If you could look past the horrible UI/Driver in favor of the solid build quality, then you could pull the trigger on this light. Maybe if you or a modder can change the driver, you have an excellent host to work on. (my two cents) :)
