Looking for freeware recommendation to delete duplicate pictures in a PC

Hello everyone,

I have a problem, I have a computer that has about 20+ Gigabytes of pictures and about 7Gb of duplicated pictures, I had downloaded Duplicate Photos Fixer Pro which was able to identify and select all the duplicates (1,000+) but to actually delete them they require you to purchase it for around $40 So I uninstalled it.

Is there a freeware option that can identify and auto select the duplicates and have a preview of the picture so I can confirm that it is the same before deletion?

Thanks!

You can use CCleaner to do that. Personally I would download ver 5.44.6575 or earlier since later versions had what some consider to be undesirable features. Filehippo.com has the earlier versions that can be downloaded.

I use Awesome Duplicate Photo Finder.

It is free and works great for my needs.

Just Google "Awesome Duplicate Photo Finder" for more info and the download.

I forgot to mention, not only does the program I mentioned find duplicates, but it also finds images that are similar.

So far it has found 8,000+ duplicate pictures does it have a setting to delete several at a time?

I am using the Duplicate Photo Finder CC apparently only does a file name or size but I need to see if the actual picture is the same.

True….CCleaner matches on name, type and also size (I think). After that you have to manually inspect the file.

Ccleaner, you can choose where to look for duplicates and what kind of similarities you want to search for.

I'm not sure.

I only delete one at a time.

Sorry.

True….CCleaner matches on name, type and also size (I think). After that you have to manually inspect the file.

CCleaner also matches on date and time of creation (h-m-s). If name, size and timestamp are identical, what can go wrong.
