Testing my new Imalent MS18

I just received my new toy finally. Imalent MS18.

here a video testing.

Thanks for posting.
I kept looking for aligators.

Even knowing what it can do did you still have that holy crap moment of “that’s bright”? Very envious of you right now, congrats of the new toy.

they can be spot by the orange eyes over the water.

i seen many videos of the MS18 but until you experience the power and how bright is in person you can’t believe it.

I was expecting a very large light and heavyweight. Is not that big and I can handled easy. The shoulder strap is very good quality and useful. I was expecting a server fan noise (I work with servers) but is not that laud either, maybe I use to.

Even with the step down is super bright as you see in the video. I has been looking for how looks the MS18 after step down but everybody post only the turbos moment. I am impressed how still looks like with 25K lumens.

Testing the 700 lumens mode looks like my Emisar D4SV2 or E07 almost in turbo. I guess those 700 lumens are under rated. I will post more videos with comparisons.

Something I need to mention is now I know how good is my Acebeam X80-GT in short throw and turbo mode until last. I can say I like more the beam distribution of the Acebeam. Is very spreading and well distributed without hotspots. The bad is that get much more hot than the MS18 and the turbo last for 30 Seconds and the step down is so dramatic that will go to about 4K lumens without throw making it just good to go with your dog outside. Lol.

Both lights are great just different uses.

be careful man dont burn anything up and lets hope that light will not fail due to poor qa…

thats I got it in Amazon because the warranty. It’s really looks very well built.

Good luck, I’m having a crap of a time trying to send a light in to them under warranty. This time last year I was defending them but I’m regretting that choice now.

What is wrong with your light? What model is?

“Imalent MS18, cleared for takeoff, runway 31…”

Base on the rumors Imalent steps up the QC with the MS18 and R90TS.

Another one from today.

Just contact then and say you have a problem …

If they respond quickly and positively thank them for their good service and let them know it was a “secret shopper” test

If they dont get back to you … well

You cant depend on reviewers or fanboiz to let u know of any warranty or service issues

ZEUSFL u are not scared walking alone at night like that ?

I’ve been considering one of these myself, even though I don’t need it the slightest bit.

Looks like a proper football stadium flood light!

I like to go for a walk "hiking" at night because you can see different wildlife, alligators, snakes, Owl, you named. No, not scare me, more than that I really enjoyed. I used to walk with my .45 but now not even that.

Large light fan here.

Thanks for this topic; there was a lot of print about this light before it was released, then very little after. I have seen that with other large lights, too.

The Imalent MS18 is the first large light, in my experience that is too much for a residential neighborhood street.

X45, X65, K75, R90TS: Not too much for a residential neighborhood street. Walk down the middle of the street when there is no traffic, aim down the middle of the street when there is no traffic; those three lights are ok/fine for such use. Not so very with the MS18. It does better with less population density.

My thinking on the R90TS and MS18: What will the successors look like, and when will they happen?

Normal people walk around with big dogs. They look normal. I walk around with big flashlights. My flashlights have bitten less people then Teds' dog.

I can not agree more with you. The MS18 is too much for walking around the neighborhood. I guess even the Acebeam X80-GT is way too much as well but the throw is much less. I usually use my x80-gt in 5K lumens mode and is more than sufficient but it's still too hot to hold.

I guess the substitute for the MS18 or R90TS will be a light with multiples SBT-90 Gen 2 emitters. I guess the manufacturers need to learn more about heat dissipation. The MS18 was a good try but the fan can be much more efficient. I work with Dell Servers and those fans are really efficient in a small and compact package. I will like to swap the MS18 fans for the Dell ones and probably I can fit 2 on each side. Maybe not in the near future.

Let see.
