OK, I know some of you will laugh, but I bought one of these it’s it’s honestly built like a tank.
$8.99 with coupon via Amazon Prime. It’s more of a “thrower” type.
At this price, I wanted to simply “try it”, but now I think it’s a keeper.
As long as the battery doesn’t blow up, ha!
You’re welcome. It claims the throw is 250m. I suspect it’s greater than that claim.
Pretty tight hot spot, with nice spill. Only odd thing is one last final “ring” just past the spill.
But for $8.99, built like a tank… IP68 rating… Not bad.
Did you happen to order one? If so, let us know what you think when it arrives.
I’m not a tester by any means. It is built like a tank. The button turns colors to let you know your battery life.
Great idea! I don’t have mine because my nephew wanted it.
So I ordered another and my brother-in-law wanted it. Since they were $8.99, I gave them to them. They wanted my Sofirn Q8 and said “no way, Jose!”.
Received mine today, seems like a very solid well built light to me. Testing out the battery now on my Engineer 500.
Ordered another as a gift. Nice non treated glass, metal reflector, looks like s 20mm mcpcb. The pill looks removable. The head seems glued to the body. Cant tell what LED is in it. Tint isn’t blueish on mine. Beam pattern is a little ringy but not bad at all.
The pill is what holds the driver and the LED board, in this case it screws out from the top under the reflector.
You can see 2 small dimples at the rim of the pill, these are for using clip pliers/needle nose with sharp tips or tweezers if they are large enough.
Most of them will un screw counter-clockwise but some are clockwise threads.
Once removed then you can tackle removing the driver if needed. Also easier to unsolder LED board for replacement or to just reflow the emitter itself.
If it is what we call a brass pill, It’s not really brass but is a heavier blend of metal than the ordinary aluminum.
