Have you seen a Gladiator lately?

SolarForce is coming up with a new light, or a bat I could say.

The Gladiator

I want one

I think I'm in love.

When will solarforce sales have this and how much...I want one to keep in the car.

So it's basically a 1 x 18650 light in a foot-long body?

It depends on the voltage-range of the dropin you will use.

Pretty rare to find XM-L's that can take more than 8.4v, so you could use two of the 4 available slots. I think if you put 4 x 18650 in that thing it might end up being a pipe bomb...

Now what would be cool is if you could use it as a single 18650 battery and store 3 others inside, that you could use when the battery ran low.

Man this will be cool for walking /jogging and when working late at night:)
I wonder how much they will be?

Errrrmmmm..................... It takes P60 drop-ins so it must be at least 30mm wide at the head and for its whole length. Yet it takes 18650 cells. So how thick are its walls...............6mm ?????

EDIT - Just noticed that its 34mm. So that's 8mm walls or one heck of a thick plastic tube insert.

Pretty sweet!

Finally something new in this category that still rocks. Don't get me wrong, I still have a soft spot for Maglite and what they've done for the hulky self defense light. Now we have a lithium-ion version that should still be of good quality. It's lighter and easier to handle but should still pack a punch. I love the battery options. I also agree with trooplewis' suggestion for battery storage. That just makes sense in a light like this.

The storage option is difficult to implement. The stored cells would need to be wrapped/insulated and that then poses the problem of linking the neg end of the working battery/batteries to the light's tube. Obviously there are ways to do it but then you need to rig all the stored cells with the same trick mod.

Maybe it is C sized cell or 26650 compatible! I can’t imagine that being all metal.

Or not.

I doubt I can resist buying one.

I don't necessarily need one for myself but this stinks of Fathers Day gift :)

They better keep this under $35

You've restored my faith in mankind...I really thought that this thread was about the movie.

Classic!

specs say 7.5 mm walled body. Wow - that would hurt

Gladiator – the newest 2012 flashlight model presented to you by Solarforce.

The design of Gladiator is inspired by the needs of both portable illumination and self-defense of our flashlight users. Its unique design is different from the traditional style and has incorporated both toughness and elegance. The body of Gladiator is made of good quality aluminum alloy with delicate workmanship. It is machined to have non-slippery and anti-rolling squares, and a comfortable grasping handling area. It has a maximum 7.5mm of solid metal alloy with its body, which has Mil-spec type III hard-anodized surface with remarkably enhanced anti-wearing and anti-erosive nature, and hence durability. Gladiator is definitely a versatile tool providing you with extraordinary experience rather than general portable illumination.

To further enhance the utility and flexibility of the product, Gladiator is designed to use up to four 18650 batteries. Each product has three dummy 18650 batteries to allow users to use different Solarforce LED / xenon bulb modules with different voltage input requirements, providing users with up to 500 hundred lumens or dozens or operating hours.
