How Much Money Have You Spent Since Lockdown?

I’m pushing $710.01 as of last hour!

I also made back $300-something selling lights to friends and co-workers.

Well I am still working, with no protection or extra pay. Also am about to spend 3x what I make in a year in a house , maybe. Also I bought a Blackland Sabre razor with a stand at $250, a couple other vintage razors, plus another Zebralight lol. I am now broke. Overtime has helped, but my weekend side gig has closed due to the ‘rona lol. I am also picking back up old hobbies and plan on getting my license for ham radio. Lol and learned how to replace pins on a straight razor.gotta stay busy.

Less. Even after the boredom-driven impulse buys online.

My wife had me trace a source for a free 1oz tube of shampoo which she used in a hotel we stayed at some time ago?.
She swears it is the only thing that stops her dandruf (better even than the oiltar, biotin, medicated stuff)
I found the Canadian source after 2 days. The website is beyond unusable. I worked on it until finally it accepted my registration.
I made a purchase of more(4×12oz) than I wanted in order to avoid an excessive shipping charge.
A week later I tried to contact the company(website, email, phone#) no response at all. My account was not available to me on their website.
Anyway, I assumed they were not in business anymore. I searched other sources. I found a hotel supply place in MO which had? the item as 1.5oz in 200pcs on a crate. My wife is a bargain/hoarder and gave the go ahead in spite of the $32 shipping charge. They cancelled the order.
The current source is still in the chase at 1oz/200pcs $78.40 free ship to my emailand provided a shipping number.
The original Canadian company has today posted to my email saying that they have shipped my order.
Where the hell have you been?

Other than food necessities that would have been purchased anyhow?

A couple of hundred bucks of stuff like a qt. of non-flammable contact cement needed to complete a workshop project, jigsaw blades, safety glasses, other odds ‘n’ ends for workshop. All ordered online and delivered by UPS, FedEx or USPS.

The week before our state locked-down I bought 4 new tires for the Tacoma ($1200) and new shocks and struts, F&R ($1500 installed, aligned.) That was in prep for a camping trip I was supposed to be on right now.

I use Nizoral twice a week and DHS 2% zinc the other days. Only thing that ever really beat dandruff for me. Before that I had to shower every single day with a dandruff controlling shampoo to keep it in a “manageable” state and if I missed a single day it would rain corn flakes about two days later.

I still have a job, for now anyway.

In total I have saved several hundred dollars, due to…
- no commute, no gas, no train tickets or similar required, almost no mileage on my vehicles
- no dry cleaning, no eating out, no teas or coffees or snacks purchased outside
- no going out, no clubs, bars, restaurants or anything

I haven’t purchased any goods online yet, but I am also a new member. Let’s see what happens next.

Groceries: I have bought more, but not significantly more. Maybe 30$ per week.

$4,000.00 on a heater for the pool this month . $150 bucks on flashlights and batteries I don’t need. $385.00 for someone to come and patch a leak in the pool or the heater will useless.

I’m left out of work until August (when schools re-open) and no income expected until then, so we have to mind our pennies. Other than food and utilities, the only extra we’ve spent was $17 for a new electric can opener to replace a hand-crank opener that bent and no longer works well.

I do keep my job (teaching assistent in a school) so I guess my income will be ok for the moment. Still I have no idea how this crisis will pan out in the longterm. Will I need my money and better save up plenty, or will its value fade and should I spent it as I do normally. I have no knowledge of economics so for me time will tell.

I do spend less money than normally though, being at home most of the time with the family is not very expensive.

Just buy a can of flex-seal! Afterwards, you can make a boat out of the leftovers and some chicken-wire. LOL

I’m out of a job so no money coming in.
Other than extra food (and TP!!!)

I put $550 into a small sine wave generator.
It will run 2 fridges or a hot plate. (If I run out of charcoal for the BBQ).
Let’s hope I never need it.
Keep Safe
All the Best,
Jeff

Less than normal since my wife and I aren’t driving to work anymore. And our auto insurance will be lowering rates for a couple of months. We feel very fortunate to be able to work from home.

I’d rather use my flashlight around the house than turn on the lights.

The 200 one oz bottles of my wife’s magic dandruff shampoo arrived today from Florida. At least half of the flipopen caps were popped up. Actually not very much spillage, butt still a mess. Maybe airplane altitude pressure change or trucking over the Rockies?
She’s satisfied which makes me satisfied. Crown

Excluding food, other necessities, or paper towels and toilet paper that can only be found in expensive smaller sizes now… I’ve spent a little on “fun”. Big Smile

~ $45 on the new Civivi Exarch
~ $40 on an S2+ and a C8+
TBD – batteries and a charger for my first foray into the world of 18650 flashlights

$65 – I just ordered the newest watch from Bertucci. Their canvas bands are amazingly comfortable. I’d already swapped out the nylon for them on my other DX3 watches. Now they’ve finally got some watches coming stock with them. Check out the classy new brown case!

With my wife blessings (Imagine that!) I bought myself a gun Big Smile

And now there is a freaking shortage of ammo!!! Just my luck!

Looking for defensive rounds that don’t cost you an arm and a leg, ammoseek seems to be out of affordable JHP rounds! Sad

9mm: 350rnds
12ga: 80rnds 00Buck+40rnd #5 shot
$275

Update parts for my SBR’d AR (so that I could build a new AR pistol out of spare parts & the take-off’s from the upgraded rifle)
$460

CZ P09 from a buddy
$175 out of pocket (he owed me some money so that’s why I “got it so cheap”).

Cerakote on a bare steel remmy 870
$160

Raised bed/hoop house rebuild + seeds & seedlings
$90

Bitcoin on March 18th
$200USD

Adding it up it seems I’ve spend about $1600 to keep myself occupied during shut down (but the gains from BTC bring that total down to about $1270 already). Thank god I’m getting paid to not work lol. And now I find myself back at BLF looking at options for my next light purchases, smh!

Do I understand correctly that you bought a gun to defend your life, but you have no bullets?
