im searching a xhp-70.2 reflector with more throw. At the moment i got the convoy l6 reflector. I need the reflector for my completely DIY-Flashlight.

Dedoming adds a good amount of throw

If you doing a pure diy build and want super throw , take some ideas from them zoomie type lights , they don’t have a reflector on some of them and just have a bubble glass ,
But the head turns into a narrow tube once zoomed out
I’ll try draw a picture as I threw (see what I did there) my zoomie away after I savaged bits from it
I paid $70.00 for 2 BLF GT Reflectors from Lumintop shipped.
+1 they don’t throw great, but make up for it in sheer output. Plus, dedoming isn’t terribly difficult and does help some. I usually build mine from modified incandescent reflectors since they are generally really expensive to buy an off the shelf one for throwing designed for a large emitter like the 7x7mm xhp70.2.
You can buy ones on Aliexpress that are smaller than the Astrolux or GT, but also considerably cheaper.

The GT reflector is smoother and better quality than the MT04.

Damn…they are a lot nicer/smoother than my 2 GT’s and GT70 reflectors that’s for sure…
My MT04 copy MT35 plus reflector has machine rings so bad that one day I may put it on a lathe and polish it smooth by hand and just not re-coat it.
