A few months ago I was using the light to look for deer out in our Fields. The light went down to maybe 30% potential.
I charged the Samsung 35e and to my surprise same result.
I did a factory reset with no change. I can remove 4 cells and still have the same low output.
The battery test on the light says 4.3
Can anyone help me out ?
So it suddenly dropped down a lot in brightness? The battery test says 4.3V? So it’s reading full.
One think I would check is if some of the xhp70 dies went out. If you have eclipse viewing glasses or welding glasses look at the LED while it’s on high to see if the whole LED is lit up evenly.
If it’s not that maybe some other people more familiar with the GT can help figure it out.
The LED appears to be centered. Good call I didn’t think of that.
The 2 faulty dies does not need to be completely dead, but they can have an increased forward voltage which will result in lower output with the little voltage overhead from 4S 18650
test every battery individually? maybe one is bad?
Can I just test them with a multimeter
yes i would test the batteries, see if the volt looks ok on all of them? and if u can try different set of batteries… could be there the issue is and not the light.
Tested all batteries. 4.17-4.18v on all 8. I have no idea whats going on. Can I send it anyplace for repair?
Are you certain you didn’t touch the step down temp? Try doing a factory reset first or completely disabling the step down. I’ve heard of a couple having a faulty sensor
I’ve tried a factory reset about 10 times with the same result. Does anyone work on these lights or is this just junk now?
There’ll definitely be someone in the US that can help you out but I’d definitely recommend you start learning about building and fixing your own, saves a lot of money and frustration when buying lights with few repair agents
Muggle mode accidentally?
Doubt it since he’s been resetting it and you can’t do that from muggle mode
Did anyone figure this out?.. my gt70 won’t turbo, and won’t strobe… It seems like the top of ramp isn’t as bright either… i have tested Batts, Connections etc… took driver out… nothing melted… no smell… is mosfet bad? Any input is welcome… I’m at a loss…
