Brinyte PT18Pro and the Klarus XT12GT - two tacticals, compared

I have on hand the new Brinyte PT18Pro “Oathkeeper” (Source) and the Klarus XT12GT.

Both belong to the Tactical segment…both utilize the same Cree LED: XHP35HI CW…both have ‘One touch Turbo at the rear’, magnetic connectors for built-in charging, etc. and both have more in common than differences.

For me, the best feature the PT18Pro has over the XT12GT is, aside from the Tactical Switches like the Klarus has at the rear, is its Side Switch….the XT12GT has none, all mode changes has to done at the rear.

Brinyte PT18Pro, left: The round the oval buttons are multi-functioned….depending on the mode chosen either from OFF or already ON. Like One-touch Turbo, One-touch strobe, change modes, turning the light OFF, etc.

Both comes with 18650 cell, IMR high-drain for the PT28:

The OEM holster of the Brinyte can be rotated in your belt to any position:

The Brinyte’s USB to magnetic charging connector:

I find the PT18Pro’s Side switch with lighted battery capacity warning a very distinct advantage over the XT12GT’s only switch is at the rear type. The side switch is only used to turn ON the light or to change modes…Switching OFF is done at the rear.

The XT12GT has a bigger reflector so it should throw farther, but overall I find the PT18Pro’s hotspot to spill combination much more pleasing and useful.

And now for some comparative beamshots:
