OSRAM CSLNM1.TG aspheric thrower - WOW!!!

So I have upgraded by direct drive de-domed XP-G2 thrower.

The host is a UniqueFire UF-1504. Which has a huge glass aspheric lens, just under 3” in diameter.

Convoy S2+ for scale:

Thanks to Int’l Outdoor it is now sporting an OSRAM CSLNM1.TG emitter on a XP16 Noctigon star.

It’s a fairly cool white rated at 6000-6500k, but it is a tiny 1mm LED with a flat dome.

I decided to team it with a Convoy 5amp driver (think it is for an SST-40). I’m not really sure how many amps I can drive this little LED at. But this sounded sufficient and safe at the same time.

Quite a simple build, or rebuild I should say.

The XP-G2 had a lovely golden tint to the light. The Osram is evidently much more “white”, but it isn’t unpleasant.

I’d don’t have anyway of measuring the Lux/Cd on this. I can say the XP-G2 easily out threw a 250,000cd Olight I own. And this new setup seems to significantly out perform the XP-G2.

Here a few over exposed iPhone snaps. But I’m sure you get the idea… Big Smile

Paint the exposed part of the pill flat (matte) black if you want to get rid of the ring around the center of the beam. Nice mod! It’s likely over 500kcd Smile

Nice job on a classic, the 1504! This zoomie seems to get better results then the 1504 for me on the CSLNM1.TG: https://budgetlightforum.com/comment/1634334#comment-1634334

In the middle here, 1504 on left, B158 on right:

I have the same build and my best result measured at 10m was around 650KCD using a Convoy 5amp driver. I did change the centering ring to a plastic on the 1504. Any thing under about 3m the LED is not in focus.

Is this true for all situations where the board is slightly exposed in the center of the reflector?

That’s primarily for aspheric lights, not reflector-based ones.
