I received my order from GearBest after 6 weeks of waiting . I ordered an S21A in 6500k The light does not seems to be the correct color temperature.
Thanks to this form I have 10 other convoy flashlights , all S2+ . A number of them are 6500k . S21A seems much warmer when compared by shining against a white wall.
The crap box they mailed it in is labeled 6500k.
I am expecting too much ? or should 6500k look the same from one flashlight to another ?
I opened a case to see what GearBest has to say . I’m sure they will get back to me prior to the next ice age .
I have a 6500K and a 5000K S21A (SST-40). The 6500K doesn’t look nearly as blue as I was expecting. And the 5000K is greener than any other 5000K emitter I own. The tint lottery is a thing, and, as I understand it CCT is only one of many parameters that describe the output of an LED. I have 4000K Nichia 219b’s that look nothing like 4000K (I think) 219c’s. So I don’t expect much consistency between different manufacturers if there’s that much difference in Nichias.
Today I received the S21A with SST40 6500K and I can also confirm it looks way warmer than any other 6500K flashlights I have. I’d say it looks more like maybe 5500K ? I also was expecting a way colder color temperature, not complaining though I actually like it. But you should beware of it before ordering.
Bought a Green S21A and a rovy von A5 from Gearbest and was surprised how fast it got here ..and really like the green colored ano . the extra green in the 5000k tint is pretty bad but a minus 1/4 lee filter makes it better. I think this emitter and reflector might be a questionable match .But for $15 it's not a bad light ...that is if I can get the Ui to change configuration
Yeah, the tint on my 6500K S21A is definitely warmer than my CW SP33 V2.0.
But considerably more green than any other light I have, which is unfortunate…ah well, luck of the draw.
