Nitecore HC50 issue

Purchased new about 7 years ago. The main LED only has 2 hrs use. The red LEDs have zero use. I powered on the red LEDs today for the first time. One came on, the other is very dim. Almost completely off. What happened to the 50,000 hour LED life?

What I find more interesting is that of the three Nitecore products I have owned, all three failed in some way.

Nitecore, like Fenix is supposed to be much better quality than the astroluxes and convoys of the world.

Very disappointed in Nitecore.

I have just recently fixed an HC90 these are regular 5mm LEDs so you can fix it with almost no effort

What did you do?

Replaced the green LED with a UV LED

Based on what?

Based on how long they have been making lights and the approximate double the price of the astrolux and convoy competition.

Did you try whacking it against your thigh or an open palm strike .?

Yes and tapping with the plastic end of a screwdriver.

Boaz, good catch, I tapped the LED directly and it came on right away.

Quality can change like the tides for any brand, and unfortunately price is rarely an indicator of quality and durability. Part of the price premium for Nitecore is their broader brand recognition and penetration into the physical retail market.
