Just an initial post of what I’m working on…. still has a bit of work to go, but here’s this at least.

BEamshots?
I would have totally bought the SC700D if it didn’t have the tint variation throughout its beam profile. Interested in the results of this mod.
I will get beamshots when I get it like I want it. It still needs a bit more trimming to get the beam as smooth as I want it to be. Just FYI, it has a large drop in CCT. It appears to be about ~3850k now, vs the stock 5000k.
Oh yes, i have noticed that too when sloicing XHP50.2 and later on guys also confirmed it.
Cree has a huge CCT drop when sliced.
I would suggest to find old XHP70 (gen1), sand the dome a bit to reduce cross appearance in the beam and enjoy yellowcorona-free output
I’d kind of like to see ZL put XHP35.2 HI and a SMO reflector in one… might also have to turn down the current a tiny bit.
Anyway, I’d love beamshots when you’re done.
