I’m ready to get my first LEP light but in doing some research I found a very interesting comparison site that showed candela values that were monstrously different from BLF sources I checked.
Furthermore, the part that scared me is: within the interactive candela graph at the bottom of the page, it shows the Astrolux WP2 losing 59% of it’s initial candela after only 2m:45s which is extremely drastic considering that this was the front runner in my current purchase decision.
Results from chart WP2
initial - 1278kcd
drop after - 2:45 500kcd
final sustained candela after 14:00 - 388kcd
IIRRC I’ve seen lumen output charts putting the WP2 sustained at almost 2 hours but this is the first candela chart I’ve seen.
Does anyone have any insight?
Also: anyone have experience with this site to confirm if his results are trustable?
WP2 is kinda crap from all I’ve seen. What’s your budget? The Weltools are kinda off the table because I’ve heard they might get confiscated when entering Canada because they say laser on them.
Chibim’s review has a discount code and he’s got a giveaway running over the next day and a half for 4 larger discount codes: 1Lumen Flashlight Giveaway page
I have the Astrolux WP1. More EDC friendly and with the diffusers, it is more versatile than the WP2. Let me know via DM if you want a coupon code for it and or if you want some beamshots.
I work in foodservice distribution and we get tons of products from China. You should see some of the translated information we get on paper hot drink cups and such. it’s hilarious
sometimes the translations can make you wonder if they even know the difference between a flashlight and a dog collar
lol man, that is perfect for my spontaneously exploding chihuahua! It’s not everyday manufacturers help out the exploding animal market but you found one!
