I have an Acebeam UC15 and the stupid thing keeps coming on in my pocket because it has a hold to unlock instead of 4 clicks or whatever to unlock.

Yes, the button does protrude and the lockout is worthless.

I suggest gluing a ring around the light. If I were doing this to my UC15, I would do the following:

  • Start with a nickel-plated brass finishing washer, #14 size. Amazon usually has them.
  • File the bottom of the washer down to make the washer flatter and so the inner hole clears the button boot.
  • Glue the washer onto the bottom of the light. Ideally, I’d want to use something like Arctic Alumina, but that isn’t available anymore. However, any reasonably thick epoxy or epoxy putty should do the job.

The washer would turn the protruding button into a recessed switch, making accidentally activation much less likely.
