Looking for a budget light that might have similar performance to my Astrolux FT03.
Put the green and red tint lenses on the other night and was blown away by how good in terms of distance they were.
So the light I’m looking for would need:
Must Haves:
1. …hopefully simular throw capability as FT03
2. be on the budget end of the scale approx <$40 give or take a bit ($50 to $60 Aus)
3. Addition of a remote switch
4. 18600 or 21700 battery
5. Ability to add a tint lense cover
Could haves:
6. Would be open to try a host and mod it to suit…maybe a single host with green and white led heads to make the light more usable
7. USB charging
Looking around, maybe a version of the convey C8…sst40??…not sure which
Any others that would be good candidates?
Ooh, ooh, ooh, I just reviewed the Anakim UC20, which comes only in green (PCG) so far.

Oh yeh, fwiw, native green/red is generally a lot more efficient than filtered white, especially in LEDs.
The UC20 has a phosphor-converted green LED, so it’s a blue LED with phosphors converting ONLY to green, vs a layer of phosphors converting to full-spectrum white and then filtering out all but the green.
