What about a budget knife forum?

I really feel this could be the best place for budget knives from Sanrenmu and others. It already is the first link in Google when you search. What about a forum dedicated to just budget knives not all knives? Most of the places we shop for budget lights are also the same websites that sell the Sanrenmu, Enlan, Navy and Ganzo knives that offer amazing bang for the buck just like some of the budget lights.

Do we need to split them out?

Most of the knives discussed are illegal here and will be seized and destroyed by UKBA (spit!). This has happened to me.

Any assisted opening knife, even if has a 10mm blade will be seized and destroyed by UKBA (spit!)

So knives are a very limited interest for me.

But I do like to hear about what others can buy.

A sore point for me at the moment!

Those laws!

Those scrotes who apply them!

Well, I like to learn at least one new thing, at a minimum, every day. Just was not expecting it to be this. I really feel for you guys who can't carry what amounts to a simple tool. I feel even worse for me because those nanny state laws are slowly creeping in here. My hope is that the pendulum will soon start to swing the other way.

I like the catch-all gear section...lighters, knives, pens, wallets, etc.

Since it doesn't see much volume I can check everything in one place.

I kinda see the point in having a Forum all its own to compete with bladeforums.com (which is sort of a CPF-kinda place only with nicer people).

Bladeforums is HUGE

The way to get a separate Knives forum is to "colonize" the Gear for Flashlight Carriers forum until the amount of traffice dictates that a subforum of that, or a separate Knife forum is needed.

So Post!

i would love to have a wallet forum, my current wallet forum thinwallet.com REDIRECTS you directly to BLF !

ROFL in all seriousness all depends on mr admin - we have asked for a subforum to no avail yet ! Frankly a sub forum WILL lead to more traffic and a couple good categories to keep things organized.

i vote yes

Blade forum is populated by it’s share of elitists as well. Any thread asking about Chinese knives is completely ruined buy people who think it is wrong to buy so called “knock offs”. And it is not worth the hassle to even post there on the subject. At least here you don’t have to put up with that BS and people generally stay on topic and not get into the politics and patent laws.

I like the idea of a catch all/everything else sub-forum which could cover knives, watches, lighters etc. I'm always on the lookout for a cheap but decent looking watch, whether an original design or "inspired" by another.

The problem is, I didn’t even know the gear forum included knives and many other people don’t as well. Knives are hidden here and I feel that budget knives belong here and would find a corner all to themselves if we only gave them the forum.

Who/what are UKBA? And how do they know what a package contains? I'm curious, as I've thought about buying a knife for work myself. Mightn't it be possible to ask the seller to disguise the item, possibly even buy a torch at the same time and have them pack the 'other' in the battery tube?

UK law sickens me. Self defense is more or less illegal, carrying anything that could conceivably be used as a weapon can get you arrested, yet the scumbags already have enough knives and guns to supply an army.

You mean a Budget Knife Section of BLF .... Not another forum .

I agree ..Discussions of knives is a pretty hot topic . It deserves it's own section instead of having it in Gear for flashlight carriers . <- kind of an odd name anyway
