Hello All,
I’ve been upping my EDC carry game and I was looking to add a AA (14500) flashlight. I’ve narrowed down to the following:
1) E2A ($28 amazon)
2) OLight I5T ($31 amazon)
3) Streamlight MicroStream ($32 amazon)
4) Lumintop Tool AA 2.0 ($21 amazon)
I want something decent for my first flashlight in terms of decent durability, lumen outputs, and battery life.
Looking to get your feedback

Any others I missed? I am open to suggestions in the $20 ~ $30 price point
I have 3 of the 4 and my pick would be the Hi CRI E2A. Nice tint and straightforward UI.
I am seeing Black for $24 on Amazon . Grey a buck more.

Of those I would probably pick the Skilhunt. The Tool isn't bad and they are cheap enough...magnetic tailcap option is nice if you don't mind the light then operating as a twisty. Tools seem to fail somewhat often (drivers) but if you buy on Amazon then Lumintop will take care of it quickly and just ship you out another. There is also a version available in colors and different emitters that was private-labeled by Drop/Massdrop...those Tool models are called the Vega I think...same Lumintop light just some customization and you'll be on your own as far as warranty if anything goes south later. Nothing wrong with the other two, just a bit more expensive than they're worth and cool/cold emitters (some people like that or it's all they know but many of us prefer more of a neutral or warmer light color which often is not available to the mass market lights...because marketing).
If you're not opposed to ordering directly from overseas there are a few lights with much better bang for the buck and that are not available currently on Amazon.
Whichever you get and if you want to run lithium, pick up a couple of Vapcell 1000mAh gold or Vapcell purple H-10 cells (you'll have to get those at one of our several good battery suppliers...those aren't on Amazon and generally most of the cells that are sold there are mediocre or worse).

I would go with E2A I think. But also take a look at Convoy T2, maybe you can get one with 219b if you ask.
problem with 14500 u dont get really good runtimes, i would get maybe a convoy s2+ or a blf a6… 18650 is good for edc and not mucb bigger really but greater runtimes and is within your price point.
The SP10S is now discontinued, so that’s the reason. If you want one you’ll need to grab another colour or wait for the SP10 Pro

I would use NiMH for an AA light and 18650/21700 for a higher lumen light.

It rarely ends with just one flashlight. If you want it to end there you need to buy one, and never return to BLF. But if you buy a second and third then come back and become one of us

Not the brightest, but:
- takes AA and 14500
- has 3 modes (moonlight, low, high)
- alway starts on low
- has High CRI leds
- it is probably the thoughest or one of the toughest lights you’ll get in this category
I think I’m going to go with the convoy s2+… I’ll wait for the 219b to come in stock. They said 2 weeks. Then i’ll pick out the the 5 lights which one I like the best!

Both with battery, one charger and one inbuilt charger - together sub 40$

I have tje sp10s and it would be my 2nd pick. The high cri LH351D 5000k makes it worth it. Anything else and you’re spending over $30. If you want 18650 or 21700, the Sofirn SP35 and SP31 are nice lights for around $30. Or just go Convoy S2…
