Looking for a "smart" 18650/21700 maybe even 26650 charger

So I’m looking for a charger which can show capacity and other important stuff besides well charging cells.
At least 4 slots.
Has to have room for 21700’s, 26650 is just a bonus.

It looks like Xtar VP4 Plus Dragon would tick all my boxes, also has sound that let’s you know when charging is ready. Nice.

Anything else out there? This would be around 60€ so something similar.

There’s tons. If you want fast charging at 3 amps, Vapecell S4 is the way to go. The Dragon is another one that’s good. You could also look at the oldie but goodie Opus btc3100 v2.2 or Littokala 500S. Otherwise it’s 1 amp or 500 mA max for 4 slots.

Speaking of chargers, there’s so many these days. Looks like everyone is making one. Even Astrolux has one now.:D It must be a major chore if one’s shopping for a charger these days.

That Vapcell S4 plus seems good too. Don’t really need fast charging, ain’t slow better?
But it’s over 10€‘s cheaper though.

Just chip in my opinion. Vapcell S4+ is quite a good one and meets those few requirement you mentioned. But only Slot 1 and 4 able to charge 26650.

Added : I used to have Lii-500 and upgraded to a Lii-500S. But I have given away the Lii-500S as it charged my cells up 4.25V which I’m not comfortable with. Currently am still using the 1st batch of Vapcell S4+(Version 1).

Well I only have one 26650 cell in my MF01 Mini and I don’t think I will get more of 26650 lights so at least one slot is enough.

Ok, thanks for those. Gotta remember that when I finally get one. Probably in few months.

Codes won’t be valid then.

I used the Vapcell S4 last week, but BG doesn’t have any in stock. Waiting for factory production which may take a while I suppose with shortage of chips.

Well, my Miboxer had a channel die last January. This was the best I found yet.

Besides, why would you be shopping like a couple of months prior to your intended purchase?
It’s not like a large ($100+) order.

Anyways, as I mentioned, charger may take a month or more to get here with chip shortages. The Miboxers are no longer manufactured, BG is probably reducing its inventory. Don’t know what is to become of Vapcell chargers – they may also be discontinued…

Well because I don’t know what to get yet. So it takes time to look good options, compare those and waiting for best offers to come along. Also could buy locally, depending on availability and price. One local battery webshop actually sells Xtar Dragon for about 60€ and also that Opus BT-C3100 v. 2.2 50€ and I could also use some AA, AAA Eneloops and maybe few 30Q’s too. I would get everything in few days, but still gotta decide which one to get or something completely different.

I have the xtar vp4 plus dragon, but also have the xtar vc8…which I find preferable. It supports even protected 21700 cells, and shows the internal resistance and mah that the charger puts into the battery, without probes. There are some extra diagnostic features on the dragon, but the added battery length ability, and simple readouts of IR and MAH, are more useful to me. The dragon does not actually support 21700 batteries, even though the unprotected 21700 does barely fit. The VC8 will charge nearly any battery I have except the super tiny ones under 40mm long or the olight modified cells. For me, the VC8 is better and, I think it is less expensive. If you are not a battery anylist, nor charging lipo battery packs, the VP4 plus dragon likely has features you will never use. The VC8 has, for most people, all the needed features, supports longer batteries, and can charge 8 18650 or 21700 cells at a time. 26650, c-cell, d-cell due to width can only charge 4. I use the VC8 daily, and the VP4 plus dragon only occasionally. The VC8 is my favorite charger, and I have many of them.

VC8 seems pretty good, but so does VC4L too.

VC4L is their newest model, maybe?
Compatible with 21700 protected batteries and type-C input.

4-slots would be enough because I would use this for mostly checking cells. Already got Fenix ARE-C2.

Charging current max 1A. Testing cell capacity sure would take a long while, but that’s not something I would do very often. VC8 would be faster, but there wouldn’t be 4 slot version that could also do protected 21700 with at least maybe 2A max?

Hi there, the VC4L is the upgrade of VC4. If you need the Grade mode for testing cell capacity, or Store mode for maintaining the batteries, charge protected 21700*8 at same time, the VC8 would be better. Smile

Thank you for your attention to vapcell S4 +

Vapcell S4 + is not expected to be out of stock this year, and there is enough inventory at present

Now chips are in short supply, and the cost of various materials is rising

It is expected that the selling price will rise in the future

If users need it, it is recommended to buy it as soon as possible

There may be occasional stock outs in the future
