Lumintop GT94X (4 or 8 * 21700 version of GT94). 24,000 lm. 2950m

Just seen this posted on Facebook by Victor from Lumintop. Didn’t see anything on BLF so thought I’d make a thread to discuss.

Edit: it’s for sale here:

Freeme has a group buy and discount code over here: https://budgetlightforum.com/node/79144

Quote:
GT94X, 4 X SBT 90.2 LEDS, runs on 4 × 21700 button top cells or 8 via extension tube, up to 24000lms, 2950 meters throw. Coming soon.

From various comments

  • You can’t upgrade your GT94 to a GT94X
  • Narsil (apparently the GT Nano is getting Anduril though)

Comparing to GT94 it’s

  • 24,000 lumens Vs 20,000
  • 2950m throw vs 2500m

The other big difference is the 4 cell option. More portable but looks less well balanced (if my MF04 is anything to go by).

I like it a lot.

I’ll take one, with extension tube and 8 cells.

Logical evolution of the GT94 when it is available and I will definitely want one, hopefully in a group buy soon ...

This needs a remote switch if it doesn’t already have one. Also maybe remote power (12 volts) and a car mount for use as a spotlight.

That’s just insane. Must weigh 10 lbs with batteries.

At least because you can disable temp control, which you do not want/need on a GT94, Anduril AFAIK can not completely disable it.

Good point. Yes, actually I was thinking about the temperature stepdown.

Luckily they remembered to make two holes for adding a clip.
But you need to wear baggy trousers.

You are a flashaholic if you are forced to come out of the closet, to make room for more flashlights.

If the GT94 stays cool enough to not need the temp control, then the temp control shouldn’t kick in. Anyway it’s certainly possible to compile Anduril without it.

Massive size and weight. Maybe mounted on a Humvee or Black Hawk will be appropriate. Wink

I like it and will get one but I want one that uses 4 GT reflectors which would make the head about 250mm diameter and compete with the lemax super power.

It would be incredible, I'd take one too.

To me it seems only an upgrade on the batteries. If the head diameter is still the same then I cannot see really an improvement on the intensity of this light.

I agree, once you get a 130 km ish reflector and push a 90.2 at 22 amps with 8 × 30Q’s then you are about maxed out on throw, lumens and runtime. But then the light is big and bulky to use. But this one looks mean and fun. Evil
I would love to get one. Big Smile
.
With 4 × 90.2 leds, it needs more power.

In my opinion the numbers don’t add up. If you increase the lumens from 20,000 to 24,000 the throw doesn’t go up from 2500m to 2950m. More like 2700m or so.

Awesome light but with that girth why even bother making it tubular? I’d like to see a square body with a built-in handle and an easy access switch at the handle like those cheap plastic 6 volt lights, or kinda like the streamlight litebox.

Definitely not to 2950m. The reflector is still the same size.

Exactly if the head is the same and the output is 24000 then we have the same launch of the GT90 around 2700 meters but it will never reach 2950 meters because it would need an output of at least 27500 lumens.

I’m thinking we need something more like a giant version of the fireflies e07, with 7x sbt90.2 and 14×21700 batteries. With a giant reflector there’s no reason we can’t hit 7 mcd. Where’s Imalent when you need them…

I am keeping my eye on this one. Same emitters as the GT94? Same reflector wells diameter and depth? Four or eight 21700, instead of eight 18650. Where do the extra lumens and extra throw come from?

This thing sounds amazing… I usually wield my mighty Imalent MS18 and I have a Firefoxes FF5 HID that’s awesome too but this light just sounds like a monster.

The GT94 is a super awesome exuberant superlative light.

I want a third GT94, but I am going to wait to see what the specs of the X version are compared to the non-X version.

Ahh i was wondering how the specs increased so much. Didnt realize it has a more powerful driver. I wonder if it can still maintain turbo without overheating
