me in total love!

got a emisar d4v2 with 9 amp driver and lighted swtich and anduril 2 . its my new fav light. im assuming its regualted under 9 amp?

Yes, with a linear driver, so the maximum output still depends on the voltage of the battery, but the lower you go the better it keeps the brightness. That being said the output is also limited by the temperature which exceeds the maximum limit rather quickly at 9 A.

With tint ramping and dual channel switching ??

It's a great light .. +1

I totally agree

"me in total love!"

Me too. I got my D4V2 vn W2 clipped to my pocked as we sprecheth.

It is well worn after almost two years nightly use. Non-flashies are amazed at how much light comes out of such a small sized flashlight.

I’m glad you like your new D4V2!

Which LEDs did you get?

I’ve been lured by the Emisar D4V2 for a long time but I kept telling myself I have enough lights—enough for any need or occasion. Still, the D4V2 keeps taunting me. Posts like yours, monkeyman, taunt me still further. I’m trying to resist but I feel myself weakening…….

im afraid to carry it becasue its so darn pretty blue .omg its like art work i dont think mine is dual channel… its crazy bright but heats up fast .but perfect to check out a sound is a threat when outdoors

Oh, sure, keep it up, rub it in. Show no mercy whatsoever. I was already just hanging on by my fingernails. Is there a 12-step program for flashlight addicts; ya know, someone I could call in moments like this?

Just for the sake of conversation, I’ve been wondering how floody the stock optic is or is the “extra floody” optic a better choice? I don’t really care about a big “throw”.

mine seems to throw and flood it will blow ya mind . the aux leds are so pretty

I was a single twitch away from ordering and it occurred to me that I wasn’t really sure about the tint I had chosen. Guess I’ll read a bit more before I make the final move.

i dont like warm tints so i went with the sst 6500 k may order the cool white cree next time .not sure whicch one is nicer

There is a 12-step program, Flashoholics Anonymous. I know that I am a flashoholic when flashlights change the way that I feel. When I abstain, withdrawal symptoms set in. I don't like my world view and my life view. The world and its people are wrong. Things and places are wrong. The ills of the surface of the planet are unbearable.

Then, all of a sudden, in an instant, life is great, as soon as I am buying another flashlight. I have to have just this one more added to my collection, because it is the same size as an X65, but 20,000 lumens. Do I really need it? Yes, but not because it fills a gaping hole in my collection, but because when I decide Yes, the world is suddenly ok/fine. People are instantly not that evil, and some are even very, very blessed. Earth is suddenly not that bad of a place to have had my spirit take flesh. In an instant, life is something to be all jazzed up about.

But there has to be more, because tolerance sets in before too long. Next, there is a Fenix TK75 in my collection that needs current, hot stuff emitters, instead of year 2015 emitters that are drearily obsolete. The universe that my soul was created in reverts to being not good enough until that flashlight gets its emitters upgraded.

There is indeed a 12-step program:

1. Admit you have a problem.
2. Come to believe a higher power(ed torch) can help.
3. Buy a new torch.
4. Buy another new torch.
5. Perhaps buy a torch.
6. Post beamshots.
7. Buy a torch.
8. Strive to help others (buy new torches.)
9. Make a list of all those you’ve harmed and make ammends with the gift of lights.
10. Continue to take personal inventory (commonly called SotC) and buy torches to fill the gaps.
11. Humbly asked Him (Hank) to remove our shortcomings. (usually this will involve something new and dual-channel)
12. Admit you may still have a problem.

The naming of these optics is quite confusing. Allow me to help:
Carclo makes 4 optics for this size quad emitter:
10621 - spot
10622 - narrow
10623 - wide
10624 - extra wide

Until recently, Hank would allow you to select two of them, the 10622 and the 10623. And if you didn’t specify he would use the 10622 automatically unless you selected Nichia E21A emitters which are known for mild tint shift and emitter artifacts, so he would use 10623 in an attempt to solve those problems.

Between the 10622 and 10623, it’s easy to ID which is which by looking at the optic—if clear, it is 10622 and if frosted 10623.

Recently, because of a rise of popularity of putting W1 emitters in KR4/D4V2 for the new dual channel drivers, Hank now uses the 10621 as well. These look very similar to the 10622 and are difficult to differentiate by looking at them. Both are clear. However if you use a ring light (as included in magnifiers) the ring reflections in each of the TIR optics is considerably smaller in the 10621 over the 10622. Hard to describe, but if you hold both in your hands and look at ring light reflections it becomes obvious.

To the best of my knowledge Hank has never carried 10624, but they are frosted like the 10623.

Now, to the last point and the reason I started replying in the first place, when you order a D4V2 or KR4, there is an option for buying an “extra floody optic.” This is poorly worded, but simply means Hank will ship your light with the optic it usually has (regularly a 10622) and include an additional 10623 in the box. An “extra” I.e. “additional” floody I.e 10623 optic. It’s really poorly worded and confuses almost everyone.

Truth be told, the best way for you to handle this is to make an order, then email contact@intl-outdoor.com and reference the order number and say “please use the 10623 optic” or whichever you want. That way you are sure to get the one you want and don’t have to purchase an additional optic.

Cheule, that is great info. I much appreciate it.
