Ultra tac AA A1 V2 flashlight? It is 3$ cheaper than than the lumintop tool. is it worth it?/

I do and yes I like it the Tool is fine too I have both but I like Ultra tac especially for $3 less.
I have both and prefer the UltraTac with its 1-lumen low and 2 higher modes; plus, it has no memory and always starts in low mode. I think 4 modes (not including strobe) on the Tool are superfluous since its lowest mode is not <= 1 lumen (low is 3-4 lumens). The Tool also has memory.
The Ultratac A1 is a great AA light. It’s fine on 14500, but the modes aren’t great.
On AA there’s a nice low mode and a distinct medium and high. On 14500 it’s like a medium and two nearly identical high modes.
The first two V1 models I got had Cree XP-L emitters in maybe 5000k. The first V2 I got had a cool white SST-20 that was super green and horrible. The second V2 I got last year had a 6500k XP-L.
Cree domed XP-L emitters have a pretty unique look, so do SST-20s. So even though they won’t say what emitter they use I think I’m right about those.
They don’t list what emitter they use so they can just use whatever they have at the time I guess.
They are very difficult to open up. The retaining ring is either glued in or it’s just super freaking tight. The tiny little dimples in the ring to unscrew it are crap and pliers and tweezers just slip out.
The Lumintop has been modded plenty so I believe it’s much easier if you want to mess with it.
