a.k.a. yet another Emisar D18 vs. Astrolux MF01S recommendation solicitation thread…

…hi, sorry, my apologies. I’m looking to get myself a wall of light beer can type of light. I’m looking for raw power yet good battery life when in a lower power mode, good, neutral white, great CRI.

The Emisar is an Emisar. Yes please, all of them, twice. I would absolutely prefer the Hank Experience, the customisation options, the build quality, the customer service, the flashing pads.

The MF01S on the other hand is a bit brighter and I wouldn’t mind the tighter, throwier beam. Also the MF I’m pretty sure stands for MF-ing AUX LEDs. Also I don’t mind a chonker if it means it’ll last longer on a charge.

What do?

One thing I’m not a fan of on both is the lack of an onboard charger. I’m fine with charging a single cell but three or four feels like a bit much. Also, I’m not a fan of repeatedly connecting four cells in parallel via an ultralow impedance path with the cells possibly having minor variation in voltage between them, be it due to inherent cell variations or imprecision of the charger.

A D18V2 with a USB charger onboard would be an absolute no brainer.

Edit: accidentally wrote MFO1S instead of MF01S

Is the title your password?

What an intro.

:innocent: sorry

Nahhh, you successfully got my attention. Well done!

Maybe check out MF01X. It hasn’t been released yet but Freeme has a sneak peak and group buy going on here.

I’m always wary of first batches but it does look good, especially with the handle. I think I’d be printing a handle for the D18 or MF01s as well.
