My beloved SkyRC MC3000 is damaged. The problem ist the housing, all of the four spring-holders are broken on plastic-side. The plastic is a POS.
So does anyone has got a recommendation for a new, better charger? Or shall I buy a second MC3000? From the charging-view it is the best charger I’ve ever bought (from my line of thought about three years ago).
I’m not aware of anything that competes with it directly.
One of the XTAR vc4 models has a lot of nice features, but it doesn’t have any of the advanced programmability. I’m sure there are hobby chargers that compete, but that likely starts getting expensive.
Thank you!
I think that’s not really safe against short-circuit. In between I’ve found the solution with ties:
I hope that will work, but it shows that another charger has to buy.
One additional question for charging Eneloop:
What’s the difference if I use NiMH charging program or Eneloop charging program?
Additional (apart the MC3000): are there any differences in charging strategies of NiMH and Eneloop, like charging-end-voltage or something else? Can I always charge Eneloops with chargers that are only capable of charging NiMH and do not have any extra program for Eneloop?
It means “slot programming view”. It looks like the eneloop mode just gives less options because some are set by default (I assume for simplicity), such as the max capacity cutoff. The actual charging algorithm is the same though.
I’m in a similar situation to OP, but my MC3000 went pop. The external power supply is OK but something inside is dead, also one of the plastic bits that holds the springs on had broken about a month ago. I don’t particularly want to open it up and would rather just replace it.
I need something that can charge 18650’s and also Eneloop AA/AAA’s.
The MC3000 had a lot of extra bells and whistles that I don’t really need, they were just nice to have. I’d like charging/discharging to prolong the life of the batteries, but other than that just looking for a charger with an LCD screen that has 4 slots.
They both look very fancy for battery chargers, thank you for the links.
I just checked the pricing and they were a little bit more than I was hoping to spend.
About an hour ago, I bit the bullet and ordered an Opus BT-3100 V2.2 for $33 USD, from what I can see this will do everything I was hoping for and more.
