Yeah, back in the old days, there were some great C8 bodies with crap drivers and ho-hum emitters, that I got as hosts. One of my faves is a ~4500K XP-E2, not at all high-strung, so limited but rock-solid output ’til the cell would croke. They have their purposes.
Then again, I’d get ’em for something like 15bux a pop offa Amazon, not more’n double that like this light.
