I am new to this forum. First Topic, sorry if I am doing this wrong. I saw Hank dropped a teaser post in a thread showing off the new DM1.12 prototype. I figured a rumour/gossip thread was needed so we can hypothetically chat and spec this thing out before it’s release! How do we get Hank in here!
Release date? USBC Charging? Assuming it’s just dual channel switching only, how should we spec it to be the most bad ass thrower and flooder it can be?
Perhaps it will run both channels together with tint-ramping - how could we spec it so we have the perfect balance of a wider TIR thrower beam and flood that mesh well and look good running at the same time?
OOOO I like that! Just to clarify, your suggesting you’d go SFT40 for sure in the middle. And either 12 W1 or 12 lh351d depending on if this is a ramp light or switcher. I already have an L19 for an insane thrower. I do think I would go SFT40 for this one in the middle. Looks like a very clean, brighter, juicier beam. But didn’t think about 12 W1s on the ring ooooffff. . But I think I would personally try to get the best thrower and flooder in one light possible. Hmmm
Original post that pictured the DT light….save some time here.
“As a new DT8 owner, I obviously see potential in continuing the lineage. Hence, a 5-minute DT1.12 concept.
It’s a quick sloppy photoshop creation… but I could imagine a 3-channel thrower-flooder-tint-ramp combination intriguing few minds here. SFT-40 in the middle, 2000k-6500k E21A in the sides? The perfect do-it-all wonderlight.
Being flat it would also fit better in the pocket…”
Who made this in Photoshop was most likely trolling, unfortunately.
Ultra thin bezel on such a big head it’s completely unrealistic.
There are no screws represented in the first place on the bezel, the screws alone make the size of the bezel way bigger as you can’t expect to thread a rectangular shape over another rectangular shape.
The tiny watch screws on DT8 are way too small for something like that you need something at least 3 times the size of those.
Not to mention the structural strengths of round objects and even superior waterproofing (no surprise DT8’s waterproofing is not perfect around the bezel area)
Whoever said this is pockatbale most likely does not get how big this would really be in practice.
No, but really. This is a really quick mock up in Photoshop. Look in the og thread. It’s made as a suggestion to Hank almost. Like, wouldn’t this concept be nice, kind of thing.
