Been meaning to post this for a while :stuck_out_tongue:

Asian8640 (Stephen) made these for my kids. I jumped into the 9th BLF Old Lumens Challenge with 12 days left on the clock - to build my first flashlight ever - from scratch and scrap. I had commented on my build thread that I may have to just give up because I still needed to make something like these before xmas, and Stephen messaged me and offered to make some for me so I could spend my free time keeping up with OL#9.

That was super nice and my girls love them! They’re nicer than I could have made.

Now my kiddos have

- a Rite in the Rain pen,

- a SAK

  • and a Lumintop EDC01
    EVERYWHERE THEY GO! And, they come back without losing them :slight_smile:

They’re made of Duck brand canvas with cotton linings.

Those look to be very high quality with the lining and i assume hidden snap back to prevent scratches. Wish I could make things like that.

The snap backs aren’t hidden. They don’t seem very scratchy, anyway. Also, anyone worried about scratching their SAK isn’t likely to get much done with it :smiley:

I understand that the items in the photo are to be used… but I would love to find something like these for high end lights that I could then drop in a carry bag. Hopes are to keep from scuffing them up and getting more in the bag. Need something that fits the FW series and the D4V2’s.

I understand. Originally, I was going to try to make these myself from suede scrapped from an old jacket. I thought it’d do a good job protecting their gear.

I want something to keep my various kits organized. I actually prefer to carry different things in different pockets, but I want to store them in their downtime in a similar fashion. Right now they all just kinda live in a pile contained in a box/tray. Lights, pens, knives, and various other things I carry regularly. Just open it and take what I need before I leave the house, if it’s different from what I have in my pockets already.

The closest thing I have to the kind of lights you are probably talking about are a couple Olight baton 3’s with the charging cases and holsters. I don’t regularly carry them, though. I mostly carry a copper i5R, but I don’t mind wear and tear. Already has a couple dents from dropping it. More an organization thing than a protection thing for me.

I do have a fairly large (could probably fit the whole family’s phones it it) waterproof box that I’ve considered building internals for to turn it into a case for my 1xAA and 1xAAA lights. The ones that aren’t in active rotation, of course :stuck_out_tongue:
