FW21 Pro issues

I’m having issues with my FW21 Pro. The tail spring fell off, so I used it by simply placing the spring inside the tailcap and putting the battery in. And it worked. One day, I tried to solder it in but it failed and now I’m having issues with the light. I need to press the switch very hard for it to do anything. When it turns on, it turns on then quickly increases brightness. None of the normal anduril functions work. I need to press it very hard to turn it off again. I also can’t take the tailcap off to fix it, as I have a newer revision than the lights I’ve seen on youtube (where they can remove the tailcap simply by twisting). I tried heating it up and using a vice, but it wouldn’t come off.

There are no shorts in the tail, and I’ve cleaned it with isopropyl alcohol. Have I melted something in the switch?

How did you attempt to solder the spring if you cannot remove the tailcap ?

I will just say that, the unsure connection on anduril light is very dangerous, as it could just light up.

As FW21 Pro owner if I unscrew the head in my FW21 Pro I get the same effect. So I can confirm, that your issue is with the contact with the inner tube (as it's double tube design). You just force the inner tube to connect for fraction of a second, by pressing hard, and when it's light up you don't have any control, because of the inner tube don't have contact. Then to turn it off, you force the inner tube to connect for fraction of a second second time, by pressing hard.

I would never carry the double tube design anduril light with unsure connection. It's really very dangerous, you can burn stuff, the FW21 Pro is a monster.

The problem is probably caused by the solder on the outer ring (it's a contact for the inner tube)

Do you mean the outer gold ring or the black ring? Or is it the small connection (I think) between the two around the top of the attached image?
