Wuben G3 - Mini EDC Unboxing Knife with Ballpoint Pen

I enjoy a nice knife. I am neither an export nor a connoisseur, but I always carry a decent one on me. For that past many years, that has been a Kershaw Leek (full stainless version). When Wuben approached me for reviewing a knife, I was a bit hesitant as I’m not deeply involved in the knife enthusiast community. But then I saw it’s not your typical knife - this is a mini unboxing knife. It’s a keyring sized jobber, nicely decorative, and includes a little ballpoint pen. Interesting enough.

The Wuben G3 mini EDC unboxing knife comes in two flavors: an engraved stainless model and one with grey aluminum caps (but still a stainless body). You can get them in a two pack of the same, a mix-and-match two pack, or as a single. My stainless + aluminum set arrived in a nice steel case. Inside was a foam insert with the two knives along with a (one) lanyard and five ink refill cartridges.

The cap for the knife end uses a magnetic closure and opens quickly and easily. To use it as a pen, you unscrew the body from your keyring (if you have it attached to one) so that you’re not dragging your keys along as you write. Being of very small size, this isn’t a pen that you’d write a long letter with but it does come in handy in a pinch. The knife is sharp enough to be useful and I did open several boxes with the G3 with ease. Of course due to its design, you won’t be slicing apples or anything like that with this, but it does provide a nice stout edge that shouldn’t go dull anytime soon.

Check it out here on Wuben’s website, it looks like they’re currently running a sale on it. Let me know if you have any questions about it!

Looks quite nice for such a small tool. And nice number of features.

Pity it doesn't have a light built-in :D
