Lumintop Frog (Re)Programming!?

Recently got the Lumintop Frog light.

I'm trying to change the setup from Ramping (default) to "Mode Set" with mode set number 4 (default), and "Mode Memory" set to enable (disabled by default).

I've read the relevant user guide several times, and I've tried to change the setup a total of around six times but fail every time! I seem to wind up with either the strobe activated or with no apparent change in settings instead!!??

This reprogramming is becoming quite frustrating, annoying even!! Actually, I'm getting so annoyed that I'm considering throwing this light out with the rubbish!!!

This reprogramming seems to be a bit too complicated for my liking.

Perhaps someone could make a simple(r) step by step procedure to change the programming to "Mode Step" and then to enable "Mode Memory"?

Thanks.

I only have two Narsil lights (Lumintop Frog and GT Nano with both using NarsilM v1.3) and the only change I have made was to turn off the button back-light on both, so I cannot offer much help, but the below video demonstrates what you are trying to accomplish at 19 minutes and 35 seconds (with some explanation beginning earlier at 16 minutes and 30 seconds):

Note: you do not need to enter a value for each blinking prompt if you are satisfied with the current setting for that attribute.

Many thanks for the very useful information and the video links!

Actually, I managed to disable the button back light as well earlier on.

After viewing much of the first linked video, I tried again to reprogram the settings. Eventually I was successful!

The light now runs in stepped mode and also has mode memory. Excellent!

I believe there were a couple of issues which initially caused confusion.

First, I didn't hold down the button for long enough to enable entering Mode Set UI. And secondly, there are two quick flashes before each setting level, followed by (a) longer flash(es) which indicates which setting level you are on (the number of long flashes indicates the level number); I didn't realize this at first!

Now I believe I have gotten the general idea of how these setting changes work.

But the (settings) UI could perhaps have been made a little easier (somehow) to begin with?

Otherwise this is a fairly "powerful" tiny light with a lot of features you would usually expect on larger lights!
