Acebeam X80 issue - repair or replace?

Hi all,

I have an Acebeam X80 which I have used predominantly during the last two autumn/winter/spring time for mountain biking. Last time I have used it was a couple of months ago. Now that the days are getting shorter I wanted to start using it again, but I could not turn it on. I have checked the batteries and they all work fine, but the unit itself will not turn on.

As the warranty just expired last week, I’m desperate to get this thing fixed, as I need a light for my morning rides, so any tips on this would be helpful.

If it can not be fixed, I would be open to suggestions as to what I could use for a replacement. My average using habit was to run the light at 1000 (or in some occasions 2000 lumen) during the uphills, and switch to 4000 for the downhills. Downhills normally lasted 3 minutes each, about 3/4 times during a 1 hour ride. In a nutshell I do not need a light with more power, but I need the 4000 repeatedly for 3/4 minutes. I have also noticed that prices on Acebeam lights have skyrocketed from 2 years ago, so a budget alternative would be preferred.

Many thanks for your help!

Get in touch with Acebeam, you may get lucky.

Clean all connections and make sure everything is tight.

Thanks will give it a go

I’ve noticed a decline on this forum, so head over to r/flashlight on reddit and you’ll get a fast response from quite a few people

Thanks for the suggestion. It turned out that somehow the lamp went into sleep mode, so a 5 sec press on the power button finally solved the issue.

That’s great news, saved you a lot of money

If you don’t mind, what do you use to secure that big 4*18650 light onto your bike?

I basically cut some foam handle bár grips which i put underneat the lamp, and then secure the lamp with 3 zip ties to the stem. I ride downhill/enduro, and with this light i can achieve almost the same speeds as during the day, so this is much better Than any bike specific light i have ever used. And because of the wide flood of the light i do not need any light mounted on my helmet which was alsó a big bonus.
Hope this was helpful.
