Rovyvon E3

The Rovyvon E3 is a new small keychain sized flashlight from Rovyvon. The E3 features two Luminuous SST-20 LED’s in cool white, which are rated for 700 lumens on the highest mode. The beam profile is one large floody hotspot thanks to the two shallow TIR lenses. Included in the package is a pocket clip, key ring, and user manual.

The light is rechargeable via USB-C cable. This is a big upgrade to the Micro-USB charging found on the older Rovyvon models. The rubber charging port is sufficient and does have better retention compared to their older models. The side switch button is aluminum as has very little travel. The switch is silent and does not provide much feedback. The light could be turned on accidentally in the pocket if not in lockout mode. The pocket clip attaches to each side and provides good retention of the light in the pocket.

The UI is similar to other Rovyvon lights. This light is unique because it has a built-in Lipo battery as well as the option to use one AAA battery. A single press from off turns the light onto moonlight mode. A long press while on activates momentary high mode. A double click from off will return to last used mode. A single press from on will cycle through the low, medium, and high modes. A triple click will activate strobe. You can activate lock out mode by pressing 4 times from off. Low mode rated at 10 lumens for 13 hours, medium at 100 lumens for 1.5 hours, and high at 700 lumens for 3 minutes which steps down then runs for an additional 50 minutes.

The Rovyvon E3 is a cool, compact keychain light with the cool ability to run AAA’s if needed.

Things I like:

  • 700 lumens from a keychain light
  • USB-C built in charging
  • Dual LED’s

Things I don’t like:

  • Cool white
  • UI can take some getting used too

I simply cannot comprehend why some use the SST-20 in CW instead of 4000k. I’m looking at you fenix!

E3 comes in both cool and neutral white. Mine is in 4000k SST20.

There also seems to be an updated model with 2 buttons called the E1 in aluminum and E4 in Titanium.

All the models appear to be available on Amazon.
