I would love to see experts’ views about comparing this new Lumintop GT98 with Acebeam X75. The latter seems much more powerful, though a little bit older.

I suspect the price of the GT98 will be around US$400.

I have enough saving for buy only one of these big flashlights as a year-end present for myself. Which one to go for?

For BudgetLightForum. 8-XHP70’s, 8-21700’s in a good carrier with lots of heat mass. Maybe Mateminco or Sofirn. Call it Astrolux 8×8.

I would go for the X75. Personally, i trust Acebeam more than Lumintop. At least when it comes to expensive flashlights.

I own the X75 version with XHP70.3 LEDs and i am very happy with it.

Lots of light with quite a bit of range, very good/efficient cooling design, fast charging.

Of course, the necessary handle turns off some people.

But i am fine with it, even though i would prefer the option to use the X75 without the handle.

1k and then having the Power button in such an inconvenient place..

Compare that package to the Wuben A1 (yes, it has less Lumens) which is at least partially comparable.

Just got the GT99 today. It takes 32 × 21700’s and has 144 SBT90.2 LEDs. I turned it on and within 1.5 seconds I had to drop it as it became too hot to hold.

Tonight I am going to point it towards China. Will post beam shots tomorrow.

Has anyone here ordered one of these yet? Neal says he is currently shipping them, I was about to pull the trigger on a GT94X right before the GT98 appeared on Neals. Got till Jan 3rd, end of sale date, to buy one of the two. Can’t decide lol.

GT94X right on the end of this video. GT94X definitely much better intensity throw but GT98 has got more spill.

Lumintop strikes again, but unfortunately strikes out. The A1 is still the best implementation of multiple sbt 90.2 out there as far as usability and practicality, and even then it has a pretty narrow and limited usefulness. You can get one of those for about $800. This thing…Nevermind it costs $1000. Would be cool to test though.

At $1,000 I agree, but its only marked at $1,000 because its part of his Christmas Sale. Code: Christmas and it goes down to $650. It also includes 8x P42A’s. I also agree it would be cool to test lol, think imma order one. Edit: Or maybe a GT94Xvn?

Can’t wait to find out how steep the drop from Turbo would be. Smile

It says it has NarsilM so you can disable the thermal control, but that may be a bad idea considering how much power this would draw. I found that out testing a Fenix LR80R that malfunctioned and didn’t step down on Turbo. Things melted.

Yeah. And seeing how Marco bashed the GT94X for dismal output after stepdown, I’m not holding my breath. But from the video above (#17) at turn on it does look mighty impressive. Big focused hotspot with significantly wider and brighter spill than his GT94.
The guy says it has Anduril 2.0 though.
He set the thermal limit at 70°C.
