Hi, got an s2+ Blue with Optisolis 6500 × 2 and x 1 5000k HCRI LED’s custom built by good BLF member ’PyriteParachute’ over in Arizona USA June 2022.
not sure, but Maybe this old firmware has strange temperature control.
Maybe it doesn’t have temperature control and something is overheating so it flashes away after a short while which should normally be after 3/4 days on low I guess. this occurs also on M and H modes.
maybe could do with a driver change.?.
other than this, its a good light for quick HCRI use.
Hey, I built that light. I used a kaidomain 2a buck driver with old 3/5 firmware. My guess is that the old code has an auto-shutoff feature, which I was not aware of before assembly. (Or maybe voltage sag and lvp with the battery used?) The build was also complicated by poorly chosen potting compound. The mg chemicals stuff I got off amazon is overly viscous before cure, and overly hard (non-removable) after. I’ll use electronics grade silicone or similar in future builds. I also have some new drivers en route from Simon so that I can pull the code off them and reflash the other old drivers I have in stock.

If you want to change the driver, be prepared for some messy work with a heat gun and tweezers and have a new driver ready. If you put a small magnet on your cell and file the retaining ring, you may be able to use a Convoy t3 driver, though the output will lower. Not that it’s very high anyway with Optisolis.
