Hi everyone, it’s been a looong time since I’ve posted here but I’ve been asked to do a review for Flashlightbrand.
So Simon sent me a Wuben G2, and I postponed the review for some long time… but hey, better late than never right ?
You certainly already know about this model, here are my impressions
Packaging is quite standard, plastic box that you can then use for flashlight parts maybe ?
Notice, clip, charging cable and the flashlight.
First impression is that it feels cheap.
Aluminum body, but each end is made of plastic, the clip is made of plastic… yup not a high-end product for sure.
Then, I took it out annnnd nope it won’t power up. Single click, double click, long click, longer click. Nope.
Maybe it needs to be charged ?
Well, here is the first good point : it has USB-C !
After some time, the battery is finally charged and the light can be used.
So, let’s start it once again.
Long (~1s) click for ON
Hold to change modes (L-M-M-H). Cycle is about 1s/mode (second good point, it reminds me of Olight)
Double click for TURBO
Single click for OFF
I think this is a clever interface for a keychain light. Long click for ON somehow reduces risk of accidental activation.
Beam is quite tight, it’s surprising coming from such a thin light. That’s the power of TIR optic, and I like that.
Other than that, it’s a cheap feeling light. I don’t think the holding system will last long and it’s not that practical either.
Now, the last point and it’s the worst… drain current is so bad that after a few weeks the battery was fully depleted again !
Again, thanks to Simon from Flashlightbrand !
