LOOP SK-SK01S 910 lumen LEP???

I just saw this good looking LEP rated at 910 lumens on Nealsgadget. Has anyone heard about it? I wasn’t aware 910 lumen diodes have been released yet. If the actual lumens is anywhere near this rating, this is easily the best portable LEP on the market.

Ya man I ordered this a few week ago. I’ll let you know how it is when it arrives

Wow cool! Can’t wait to hear how they turn out. Since Nealsgadgets charging two different price for the 450lm and 900lm versions, it might actually be a new higher power diode. Can’t wait to find out!

Ha yeah I saw that too. This dude on CPF has been recommending some lights to me. The Owleyes Pro is wicked cool. I just got a pistol grip for it and it looks like Han Solo’s laser pistol

Ha, so I just got my Titanium Loop 910 lm and I’m going to be sleeping with this thing under my pillow tonight. Unbelievably bad a$$. I focused it down to a small dot and burned some dark plastic and cloth. The focusable feature is great and I can’t describe how pimp this thing is. I feel like I’m carrying around a lightsaber

Holy cow sounds awesome!!! Can you compare it with some other LEP lights? Do you have tools to measure the lumen and throw?

I have the say the design looks really cool, like it is from a computer game! It would be nice if more manufacturers make flashlights like look like this, a bit of sci-fi! I am looking forward to some reviews!

What's the point of the spinnable tactical ring?

You know, it’s actually pretty useful. I put my hand through a lanyard I tied to the ring and then put my index finger through the ring and grip the flashlight in a normal way. Then you can quickly flip it to a hammer grip with your thumb on the tail switch without dropping it.

I do wish it was easier to focus one handed. You can do it, but it’s clumsy.

The only other issue I have is that the threads to screw and unscrew for switching out the battery are really tough to do. Maybe I’ll get used to it. I’m going to put some silicone grease on the threads today to make it easier.

I don’t have any light measuring gear but I shined it next to my two Thor LEPs and it’s very bright by comparison. The color is slightly warmer/yellow but you’d never notice that unless you did a side by side like that. The moonlight mode is crazy! Like so did you can’t see it almost unless you’re in a dark room.

Ya it looks like a lightsaber or a Niven flashlight laser. Mine is even engraved with “Skywalker” four times around the focusing ring.

The only issue with the spinning ring is that I’m gonna have a hard time, finding any sort of holster to fit this thing…

The spinnable ring I think is inspired by Manker.

It has little screws so I think you can remove it pretty easily. I wish they’d designed it so you can fold it flat somehow

Big correction to what I said earlier. The Thor is more yellowish whereas the Loop spot is a beautiful perfect ball and very white (cold). I’m shining it on a white wall and focused it to the smallest possible sharp spot (not fully clockwise or counter clockwise) and the spot is so bright I can’t look at it.

Did you buu it with a coupon? I saw a 35% coupon during Christmas but it’s expired now.

Ya I did. I got the MT90 too

About the 910 lumen units.. They have been around for at least a year.

The NEXTORCH T20L uses one, and I reviewed it in November 2021

I've got the prototype of the LOOP, and a production unit should follow soon.

It's pretty bulky for a flashlight. But it's definitely a cool gadget. At this point I wouldn't recommend carrying it on a daily base, at least not to depend your work upon.

Still nice for 'playing' around with it.

The screws come off pretty easily, so you might lose some parts, or drop it to the floor if the screw gets loose of the ring.

I'm not sure if the production units have the same issue.

Here's some size comparison with Emisar D1 (2022) and a Acebeam Pokelit AA

BTW mine is reading below 450 lumens, so I assume mine is the 450 lumens version.

In Turbo it drops pretty quickly in output though. Again, that maybe just my unit..

Great review my friend! I have the titanium one with “Skywalker” etched into the ring. The screws don’t seem loose on mine.

The spot is beautiful. It looks most like the moon on my wall. When I focus it, it’s so bright I can’t look right at the spot.

How would I go about measuring the brightness? I bought the 900 lumen one

Thanks for the perspective! It’s huge for an 18350 light, much larger than I expected. Might as well make it a 18650 light. Im not as excited anymore as it is not as pocketable as I thought. Probably overheats quickly. Im wondering what kind of driver it uses. If it uses a boost or buck driver, I will still buy it. Waiting to see your runtime graphs to see how well it regulates.

For those who have one. What do you think? Worth the price? I would love titanium but it’s way too much for a non established brand.

Probably not worth it, at MSRP, it feels and looks amazing, there’s nothing else like it. I don’t believe the 900lm, it can zoom fully in 1/2 turn and 1 handed. Heavy af in titanium but expensive heavy. I love it, been carrying it for weeks. Like most my other lights, not worth it but good god it fun while being so beautiful in build and hotspot. The beam is one of a kind. if it won’t hurt ya to blow, it’s a great expensive toy. :+1:

If it even had 700lm, I would probably buy it but from the reviews, it doesn’t seem like they are using the right LEP module.
