I was just browsin cutter's website and look what I found http://www.cutter.com.au/proddetail.php?prod=cut1311 and this monster http://www.cutter.com.au/proddetail.php?prod=cut1299 .wow,little above my range for the 16 xml but the 8 xml board isn't too bad.I have never heard of the u2 1d bin either,sounds like somethin special,6500k,might be o.k. but I'm afraid it could be one of those white hotspot with purple fringes deals,yuck! 16 xml is unreal,only problem would be optics and suitable driver.likin' the 8 for a mag mod,thoughts......
I suspect they're going to need active cooling for more than short-term use. For a couple of minutes battery sag should prevent overheating. even the 8 LED version is an 80W device if driven hard.
Very, very tempting as home fixtures though. Obviously with a suitable dimmer. It wouldn't be cheap but it ought to be a fit and forget device once built.
