Damaged plastic outer on 18650

Hi,

I have those fake Sony 18650's that are sold on KD.

I bought them as a newbie (which I still am), thinking they would be ok.

I dropped my L2P, and the outer plastic wrapper has been pierced by the PCB at the negative end of the battery.

It seems to work ok, but was wanting some adviceon whether I should keep using it or toss it, I mean recycle it?

I don't want to get in a situation where the thing explodes or shorts and causes an explosion.

Am I being paranoid and keep using it, or should I just cut my losses and recycle it?

Regards

Rob

Put some insulation-tape on it and keep using it if the PCB and it's connections are ok

Hello Jamesbond007,

A big welcome to the British Military Intelligence .

I had the same problem and used 30mm shrink wrap

to fix it.

As Nibi said, if you have access to a hot air gun... this might be a good investment.
