Here's My Birthday Present - L3 Illumination K40

I just want to say thanks to Jake25(sbflashlights) for the wonderful flashlight. It’s every bit the light I was hoping for and then some. This K40 just feels great in the hand and it’s going to be a thrower I can already tell that by comparing it to my EagleTac U2 M3C4 which is putting out around 65,000 lux by the way. This K40 may just become my personal favorite. The balance and fit ratio are perfect. And I love the little case it comes in. My prediciton is that this L3 Illumination K40 is going to be a huge hit. What a great value for the dollar. The finish is awesome. So far I’m really liking this one.

I’m now just waiting for it to get dark. And hopefully no rain will spill my fun.

Thanks for looking.

Brad

Happy birthday, Brad! That's a fine looking light.

Happy birthday, congratulations, I do really like the look of that.

Thanks so much guys. Birthday is Sunday and I have to work Sunday nite. Oh well. But I was tickled to finally get this after my wife and mom gave me the money. We shall see how this one compares to the TK70 later tonite hopefully if weather is good.

Happy Birthday Brad! Ummmm... You're a bad influence on me! Damn... Do I really need to be buying another torch?????? Post some beamshots ASAP!

Happy birthday Brad!

can’t wait to see the shots!

I really do think this is gonna be one that you may want to get. We certainly don’t need it, but it’s definately a light most guys will want. And I have wanted one so bad since I seen it. I will say that Tim was right about the setting ring and metal to metal contact being a little rough. But really this is so minor. I’m going to give this light a solid 9 on a 10 scale for overall quality, looks, finish, size and balance. And that may be on the low side. But I’ll find out more later how it throws. I see no reason why it won’t be around the 87,000 lux mark the way it beat my M3C4 U2 on the wall. It smokes it.

Congrats and Happy Birthday Brad!

congrats on getting yours!, I am loving mine as well

Nice! happy early birthday Brad.I have been waiting for a real nice outdoor beamshot to sway me on this one, everything looks great from UI to finish.TK-70 should be a worthy competitor, looking forward to that.

Very nice torch!

That’s about the best present a flashaholic can dream of!

Happy birthday!!

Congratulations ILF. Have a nice one and keep up the happy mood. This one is from all the guys on BLF that hardly ever posts but loves throwers and therefore reads your posts without fault...

Stay safe and post pics ;-)

Happy B Day! This is likely my next light too!!! BEAM SHOTS

Thanks men. I did find another negative. This battery holder won’t allow 3 Xtar 18700 2600mah batteries to seat properly due to hitting the post and making batteries stick out too far in the holder and making contact with tube. That’s a drawback and needs to be addressed.

Happy Birthday! That is an awesome light
