There isn't room for the switch design of the 34 in this light - it is 23 and a bit mm in diameter, the 33 is (just) under 20mm according to the office ruler.
The waiting is the worst bit, isn't it. Says I as I go to check what I'm waiting for from DX just now. Well, I would do if I could get through - wonder if DX is under attack again.
Even worse when you can't get through to DX's database to find out what's going on. Looks like DX is having troubles - even using https://www.dealextreme.com or https://www2.dealextreme.com doesn't seem to be helping just now. I suspect one of their rivals has hired some sort of attack on the site again - certainly wouldn't be the first time.
That's a relief. Now I can find out how much I've overspent this month. Ow! 7 lights, 3 dropins. And two $1 lights from eBay. That includes these two Auroras though. Since it's now dark and doesn't appear to be raining or snowing just now, time for some beamshots.
Ceiling shot. The 34 is on the left and has a noticeably narrower beam - the lights are balanced on top of a door about 60cm (2') from the ceiling. The light on the right is the SH-033, the CR2 equivalent.
I've added the above shot to the SH-034 review as well.
Outdoors shots to follow but it's getting cold tonight - the forecast says 100mm (4") of snow tonight. Oh joy! Happy! Happy!
They are nice. Beamshots uploading as I type. One thing about the 33 is that the good GITD O ring makes the outer edges of the spill bright green. As I was taking these, my left hand was lit bright green by the edge of the spill.
It really does throw better than I expected a CR123 light to. Rather impressed with it. The 33 is a much more useful close-up and indoors light. Just about to stick it on a box to get the numbers etc. Runtimes on high will be tricky, the cell protection tends to cut in on over-current after a few minutes.
