Flashlight playing the Imperial March

This was on my to-do list for more than a year, I'm glad I finally did it.

Some flashlights produce some whining noise with their PWM; some lights make that noise themselves, but even the silent ones make noise when their light shines on dark fabric (unless they use a PWM frequency too high to be heard), due to the photoacoustic effect. Ever thought that noise might be fun? It is :)

Here's my Roche F6 with some very custom firmware, using PWM frequencies of 120-300 Hz

wow DrJones that was awesome :open_mouth:

Now that is a self defense strobe - Aaaaaa! Darth Vader is coming!

That is really amazing! How about mounting a dark filter in front of the lens? Would it do the same thing?

Now I know what’cha doin instead of building smthing for me!

If only he used his flashlight for good, instead of evil.

Wow that’s really cool.
I’m impressed by the qualities some people have.

I’m impressed by their free time.

i now have the song stuck in my head |(

me too... that was fun!

Love it!

Incredibly neat. Thank you. Brings a smile.

Now you need to do the high pitched Alvin and the chipmunks version.

That is cool on such a level tesla would be proud!

I’m man enough to admit that I had a slight nerdgasm with the photoacustic video!
(yeah…I have the imperial march metal my ringtone :D)

Ok the flashlight is pretty cool but that’s just awesome, is that real? I’ve seen a tesla cool fired in person so I know what they sound like, did they actually orchestrate that or is it special effect?

Probably special effect for movie…but it is real

And they have one you can make and play midi files
