Carclo's "bubble optics" -- anyone used in flashlights?

Just stumbled on websites mentioning these:

LED Module Secondary Optics (20mm, for Rebels)

Optics For LEDs | Bubble (for several different LED sources)

Curious if anyone has seen them used in flashlights
(yeah, I’ll try a few and report eventually, but it won’t be right away)

These look great for camping lights, think back to DBSAR’s winning scratch built “steam pipe” light.

I wonder if they’ll be difficult to use, they need a small lip for the bezel to hold them in.

I always need camping lights; I’ll see what I can fiddle.

…. a 60-year-old receives only about 40% of the same amount of available light as a 20-year-old. An older person, therefore, may see poorly under dim conditions, and lose both acuity and contrast sensitivity.

It is also difficult for an aging visual system to adapt quickly to dramatic changes in brightness. Even within a single space, it may be hard to see darker areas if other surfaces are much brighter. A general, or “ambient,” light should therefore assure that there are no dark areas in a space. The space should also be bright enough to allow for good visibility… .
