Show Us Your Car!

Following on from the “Show us your motorbike” thread, I thought it would be a good idea to do the same for those of us passionate about the 4 wheel variety!

I will kick it off…

This may be confusing for some of you American’s because I’m not sure you guys have utes over there???

It’s a 2006 Holden ute with a 6.0L L98 (similar to LS2) V8. It makes 437rwhp and has a T56 6-speed manual gearbox.

...What.

It’s a ute, Bud. Get with the program

Get ute here

Don't have this one any more...pity

1968 Ford Cortina, fitted with a 351cui Cleveland, 2 speed PowerGlide, 9" rear.

Best time I ran was 10.21sec 1/4 mile @ 133 Mph., with 8" wide tires & plenty of wheel-spin.

It was a single 4-barrel carb, no nitrous.

Not bad for ~20 years ago....

2006 Alfa Romeo 159 2.4jtdm 200bhp

That is moving!!

For something a bit older…

This is my dad’s 1964 Jaguar E-Type which we have just finished restoring.

That E-type is sweeet! And so is the Holden in the first post.

Besides my everyday car I used to have this:
:
It’s a Ford Escort Cosworth that was tuned up to around 450 hp. Fun little car, not so heavy and four wheel drive.

It’s sold since long ago and now I have this:

It’s the inside of a Peugeot Boxer which my girlfriend and I have re-built to a mobile home that we use on our climbing trips.

Wow LSX - that is really nice.

I see some track tires & four-spot calipers - will it see a little action?

1973 Valiant Charger fitted with 440 bigblock and 1973 Mazda Rx2.

Does the Mazda go in the boot?

Thanks FmC!

Yeah, it will be used for regularity events and probably Targa West and some other tarmac rally events.

The engine is a fully built 3.8L I6 with forged internals, programmable electronic distributor, racing oil pump etc, triple Webers with extensive head work done, it also runs a brand new Tremec T5 gearbox with a lightened ally flywheel and a 7.25” Tilton twin plate cerametallic clutch. The brakes are Wilwood 4-pot superlites.

However, it went in for its final tune today, now that it has some KMs on it and it has completely dropped compression in one cylinder. So the head will be coming of which is really disappointing

I love the sound of an angry rotary!

There was a Capella here 2 weeks ago for the Historic Touring Car round that my old man races in and it sounded amazing! Could hear it over the V8s at idle.

My brothers race car, 2007 Mini Cooper S ex Mini Challenge car.

Nice! I bet that is fun to drive!?

Yeah, it handles great. We run it in the 2 litre Sports Sedan class.

Cars, probably my biggest passion, but a lot more pricey than torches!!!

Current fleet

Week end drive:

Daily commuter:

Family hack (currently undergoing 2nd engine rebuild :frowning: ):

Recreational use:

Show car and events (it’s red, some digital cameras can’t seem to capture the colour):

Yes, collecting cars (and motorcycles) makes torches seem cheap! Nice fleet you have there!

Really nice vehicles, gentlemen…
