GB Skilhunt H02 and H02R *** CW and NW available - May be able to do again if enough interest

Ordered one last night. Thanks, Bugsy.

Ordered and Thank you

Ordered a CW H02R
Happy New Year to All

Also ordered one. Thanks Bugsy for the GB and HAPPY NEW YEAR to everybody!

Since the H02 will be in CW I’m thinking about my first mod:)
I would really prefer my headlamp with high CRI. So here comes the noob question.

What would be good choices for achieving that goal?
Reading this thread I have gotten this far…
http://intl-outdoor.com/noctigon-xp16-v2-mcpcb-cree-xpl-u5-7a3-80cri-led-p-814.html
Will this fit or am I missing something? And do I need to worry about the driver?

@Zipelas

I think dnkyblf did that mod with a picture on this thread. From the picture it looked like the the same LED you linked. You might want to ask dnkyblf to make sure, but I remember people saying this is a very easy light to mod.

There is no need to change the driver since XP-L & XM-L2 emitters’ forward voltages, Vf, are roughly the same. Unless you are changing the UI or emitter to MT-G2 (hm… now you got me thinking), you can use the stock driver.

Either of below high CRI 80+ emitters on 16mm Noctigons from Intl-Outdoor can be used with H02:

  1. XP-L U5 7A3 $7.98
  2. XM-L2 T4 6A2 $6.78

The first one is the one in your link and what I am using now (XP-L).
But XM-L2 is cheaper and H02’s stock emitter is XM-L2.

I did buy those two emitters, but I only installed XP-L, not yet XM-L2.

The process of changing the emitter is pretty straightforward.

1. Unscrew the 4 small screws to remove the square plate at the head. Make sure to use small screw driver with appropriate force and bit to avoid damaging either the screw heads or the threads.
2. Remove the TIR/reflector together with the O-Ring.
3. Desolder wires from stock emitter board.
4. Remove emitter and its board. The board is 16mm in diameter, but size of the opening at the head is less than this. The key to sucessfully ease the board out of the head is to use the notches of the board (eg: taking the board out at certain angle, in certain position)

Reverse above steps, after changing the emitter.

Thank you very much dnkyblf
This headlamp will rock:)

I can't wait until I get mine :)

Hi could you please PM me the information? Thank you.

Did anybody get the “shipped” email? Not that it means anything these days…

How does this feel on your head compared to other head torches?

Please pm the info.

Thanks,
Steve

Hi

In for H02R and H02 too, preferably NW (if possible).
Please send details on PM

Thanks

Pm's sent :)

Please send info

Thanks!

For what it’s worth, I got my “shipped” email yesterday

I logged on just now and saw that I have the shipped message too.

Got a shipped email today. That either means it left a week ago or will leave in 10-14 days.
