Both the English and German manual are now finished and ready to print. You can download it from the sharepoint. This will be the revision (10/04/2019) that Sofirn should be using as of batch #2. It will be forwarded to Sofirn by Monday next week, i.e. right after CND celebration has ended. Now, it should be as good as it gets.
Update October 5, 2019: Some significant changes and additions have come up (see following posts) that made it necessary to revise the manual once more. I have highlighted those changes in the pictures below. Now, I really hope everything is ready for printing. The final version has the time stamp "2019/05/10".
Thanks for the hint. So, I will add this to the manual as a „last-minute“ revision. Would you recommend adding the floor/ceiling levels as well as the approximate output in muggle mode, too? This will of course only apply to the updated Andúril as of batch #2.
Thanks to flightless22 for the correction of the grammar mistake. It will be corrected.
Not sure if that info should be in the manual or not. It’s probably okay either way.
I tried to measure lumen output of the lantern, and I don’t really have a way to do it. It requires much better equipment than I have. So my numbers for it are only approximate guesses.
As for the floor and ceiling levels, the ceilings are both set to the highest level by default. The smooth ramp floor is set to the lowest level. And the stepped ramp starts at 10 and has 5 steps.
Smooth: 1 to 150
Stepped: 10 to 150 in 5 steps: 10, 45, 80, 115, 150
From the factory, it uses the stepped ramp by default.
Muggle mode is configured as level 15 to 115… but that isn’t configurable so it probably isn’t relevant for the manual. If my guesses are anywhere near accurate, that should translate to something like 20 to 350 lumens.
That‘s alright. I must admit that there‘s hardly any room left to add additional information without changing the column layout again. So, maybe we can leave the content in section „Muggle Mode“ as is.
These information should be fully included in section „Ramp Configuration“.
Can you please check once again? According to the manual and any Andúril flashlight I bought so far, SMOOTH RAMP is/was set by default. And in terms of the muggle mode the LT1 should only be using SMOOTH RAMP as this mode does not have any alternative UI, correct?
Yes, it uses the stepped ramp by default. I added a compile-time option to make that possible, specifically for the lantern, because DBSAR wanted it. It is the only Anduril-based light so far which works this way.
Okay, that’s a significant change that should be reflected in the manual. So, in terms of the LT1 the default ramping mode is set to STEPPED RAMP instead of SMOOTH RAMP. Thank you for your quick feedback, TK!
